Title: Dodged a bullet but
Post by: The Skipper on April 21, 2013, 07:35:15 PM
Still got flooded  shootme we had all that rain and everyone around me flooded, I helped bail water

changed 3 sump pumps and 1 pump switch, borrowed my hoses and electric cords out and now everyone

is cleaned up and dry. Today my wife washes 1 load of clothes and we flooded because my ejection

pump went out LOL. I'm still grateful that we didn't get flood water and it could of been much worse

but it was still a pain in the ass and my only help was my bride.  hammerhead1 4pezz2 shootme

sorry, not a fun thing, we had a basement full of sewer water during Hurricane Sandy, it was awful

good luck drying out and be careful of anything wet, you don't want mold

Thanks, yeah the weather we can't control but I wouldn't mind spring showing up some time soon.

That's why I'm thankful, this was nothing compared to what you guys went through or even my neighbors,

the worst thing that may happen is my tile may come up but it looks ok and it was pretty clean water

from the washing machine and were done cleaning and new pump in. I really felt terrible for you guys

and hope that never happens to anyone.

Well at least you don't have to clean up Gene & Jude's, Skip.

You got that right  rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1  That's happened to them many, many times, maybe not

half way up the building but they get flooded there often, I'd hate to pay their insurance premiums.

Maybe they should change their name to the S.S. Minnow.

Thanks bud.

A few months down the road you may wish to take a spot where the water hit and take down a wall (higher than the water level)  to check for mold. Also, mold test kits at Home Depot are inexpensive, you may wish to place one in each room on your lower level after everything dries out.

Mold can ruin a home.

Good luck.

We're still not done rebuilding but we're getting there.
