Legislators voted to suspend plan to do away with slots at race tracks. (http://www.standardbredcanada.ca/notices/3-28-13/watch-debate-horse-racing-motion.html)

Gary,
Apparently the motion passing doesn't really mean anything, at least in regards to actual law.
The Premier may simply avoid the request and not even acknowledge that the vote took place.

We did however manage to reach and agreement that allowed for Kawartha Downs Raceway to be saved. It was set to close Saturday March 30 but managed to reach a deal with the province late Friday night. They had a record turnout Saturday night and it was filleed to capacity. A huge cheer was heard as they announced that an agreement had been reached.
