Title: Knew this one was coming
Post by: 3 wide and wingin on January 07, 2013, 03:07:33 PM
I predicted this would happen 2 years ago.

The re elction just happened too.

It gathers steam in a few years when the country is collapsing. And the press/propaganda arm of the government will make it seem hopeless without the saviour.

I really think he is trying to mess it up so bad that his "supporters" feel there is no other choice.

You know the media will feed into it.

I did think this would happen. Just not so fast.

They are also going to be coming for your guns soon.
Although Ive never owned a gun.
Been considering joing the NRA.

It's gotten to the point that every law abiding citizen needs a gun or guns.  Not so much to protectr your home against a robber, but for civil insurectiuon.   If you have food, heat, water they'll come and take it and dispose of you along the way.  My buddy just bought one of the those assault rifles a month ago for that very reason.  His neighbor has 3.  Most he has is a 10 round clip, but he is thinking of getting a bigger one while he can.

I am aware.

Very tough for me.

Probably is in the cards as it gets worse.

"Although some websites are reporting the move as evidence in support of Obama-conspiracy theories, reports say that the Rep. Jose Serrano (D-N.Y.) has introduced similar legislation every Congress since 2001."

Right. 3/4 of the states are going to agree to it.  In a country more divided now than ever people are going to unite to give Obama unlimited terms.

If you go by history Democracies don't last very long so predicting the country will break up is not really going out on a limb.  It won't, however, happen in the next 4 years.

What happens when executive orders get issued and nobody fights them? Jeremy, you just aren't old enough to recognize tyranny when you see it... but someday you will.

A democracy has a shelf life of about 200 years. You are right. We had a good run.

No they wont amend the constituition for term limits. I am saying the kool aid drinkers will try.

Secession probably not the next 4 but the next 10.

If the country goes dem again in 2016 after 4 horrible years by "our lord and saviour".
It is happening then.

And it wont be a war. The north wont fight them.
So it will be like when the USSR dissolved.

I also don't mind disseminating misinformation about Obama.
After what the main stream press did to Romney last year I feel obligated to.

You're really serious about the debt ??
You really believe that any of us here on this forum have not done all we could to see that this marxist fool was not re-elected?
It was our fault that the generation you seem to belong to is so self serving and ignorant so as to cast the majority of stupid votes that would get them a free Obamaphone?
It was my generations fault that these same under achievers wanted free health care and now suddenly find that it's about to take a pretty good chunk of their paychecks (assuming they even have a job).
You're not "naive".
People like you and your buddy "Elgin" and plain stupid !!

Sorry toots, I'm a registered Republican, (which I have mentioned at least a dozen times) voted Romney because he was against the incumbent.  I know you find that hard to believe because I just don't go party line.  Last I checked the debt was in the trillions before Obama got elected, and reelected.  Your generation polluted the minds of my generation in the educational system.  People just aren't born feeling entitled to things, somewhere your generation (not saying people here) got lazy with raising kids, or didn't step in enough when it came to teaching your kids how to raise theirs.

I consider myself a liberal Republican............I also consider myself wise enough to know the office of the President of The United States is not the sole blame for the mess our country is in............I voted for Obama(might get me banned from here).........I did not vote for one incumbent member of the House or Senate.

Don't try to run that bullshit story by my children or grandchildren. They'll quickly tell you I was a pain in the ass. I've always been about teaching them integrity and personal responsibility.

1960

It is the baby boomers.

The children of the greatest generation.

But somehow their children have done this.
Maybe they were working too hard and making the country great to notice?

IMO America is still hanging on because of the WW II generation.
They were that great.

Their children were the worst.

I have a hard time with such wide sweeping generalizations..........they are also the generation which rode the freedom buses through the south and gave women the pill.
Socieoeconomic problems which still plague this country can go back as far as reformation. Our woefully lacking educational system shortly after.

The only thing I might agree on when you are in the forum is that you are a complete and total ignorant asshole. And I don't give a rats arse what you call yourself or how you are registered.
I've literally seen men die for your right to be an asshole so go right ahead sweetie. It's just a damned shame that the country has come down to sh%#heads like you casting meaningless votes for useless candidates.
Did you get your free Obamaphone yet sweetcheeks ??

The way i see it is too many intelligent people voted for Obama.  How they could ever come to the conclusion that a  complete charlatan is worthy of a vote is beyond me.  Don't blame the educatuonal system.  Other countries don't demand every student continue on for so many years when they show no academic appitude.   They are spun off into trade schools or apprentice programs along the way.  So, our general population of students can't come off well against the elite academic students of other countries.   Good educational opportunities abound in this country to those willing to work hard and accomplish something.  Too many of today's parents look at schools as baysitting services so both parents can work and enjoy a double income.  That's fine, but too often not enough time is devoted to the kids.  If you allow others to raise your kids for you, well we can only hope you choose wisely.

My kids are not getting the greatest education.....and no matter how hard I could try, there is no way I could afford to pay for the quality of education other civilized countries give for free.........but I haven't allowed the schools to raise them.

Many in this country have, whether it is due to pure laziness or the vicious cycle of poverty......and it IS a cycle.......one which can be broken.....but not with out education.....and start with PROPER sexual education...........I don't believe in passing out condoms in schools or abortion being a relatively easy out.

Jeremy you have an ability to really piss people off.
I suffer from the same condition.

We have to work every day to harness it.

Hal I disagree.

I know too many really stupid people with college degrees.

Michael Vick attended college and didnt even knwo dog fighting was illegal.

The country has been throughly dumbed down by liberalism.
Not keeping score of little league games.
Making sure everyone feels good about themselves.
All the P.C. crap

And I know this wont be poplar but when I was a kid when I was bullied it made me stronger.
Now bullying is a crime.
I would thank those people now if I could.

Democracies do have a shelf life.
All societies do.

3WWW--I don't think I ever said that you have to have a college degree to be intelligent.  I know plenty of stupid people with college degrees and many very inteligent people without them.  I always felt I was far smarter than most of my college professors, but also realized some were far smarter than I was.  Those are the ones you try and learn something from .

Amy
There is no such thing as a free education.  Somebody is paying for it.  Other countries only allow the elite to go to college or the university.  Therefore,  a quality education is provided for those who can benefit from it.   That system is far from perfect.  Many "late bloomers" never get a chance and some of our greatest people were "late bloomers"  As for sexual education, too many are taught that having kids is an easy way to free government handouts.  Amazing how many 20 somethings have teenage kids, 3-4-or5 , not 1 or 2.   35?  too many grandmas.
Who has the fewest kids?  Generally, our most talented people.  That is not a recipe for success.

Hal.....I'm very well aware of the "young grandma" syndrome..........and what amazes me are the "congratulatory" statements which are made over a 33 year old becoming and grandmother.  thumbsdown

You'll find a direct correlation between education and teenage birth rates.........I don't believe the "have a baby get a hand out theory"...........when you are not properly taught to respect your body, to have self esteem and a strong work ethic you make choices which bring the quickest satisfaction..........sure, once pregnant they know how to work the system, but I do not for one minute believe they are getting pregnant at 15 to simply do so.

Of course someone is paying for education in this country......we aren't paying enough.........or should I say we are not getting a well rounded value for what we are paying for.

My hat is tipped to a good teacher...........they deserve every dime.

If everybody were required to fund their schools directly, by that, I mean walk into the school office and write the check, swipe the credit card, or hand over the cash, schools would improve almost overnight.  See how long you would pay for an inferior product/service while writing a substantial check every month.

Voucher systems have long been advocated as a way to improve education.  Problem is, that gives the power to the people and not the state.  Will never happen in this era of mega government.  People don't want power.  They want the government to take their money and spend it for them.  Witness the latest election results.

I'm not talking about a voucher system.  School vouchers are government certificates which allow a third party to interfere with the transaction between a buyer and seller, in this case, parents and their schools.  Food stamps are government food vouchers and look at the fraud and waste in that program.  There is no substitute for a face to face transaction between buyer and seller.  When an unacceptable meal is served to you, you send it back and demand better for your money.  When your kid is forced fed a substandard education, he has to swallow it.

Can the average family of 4 afford to write out a check for $25,000 to pay for 2 kids to go to school each year.  I think not. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with your plan.
