Title: Here is what I love about betting at home
Post by: LVGaryD on November 16, 2011, 07:42:41 PM
Sitting here watching Northfield, I got aggravated and flipped over to Pompano for their tenth race.

Got to looking at the program and sort of liked the #8 horse, mainly because I love betting Fern Paquet. Bet $10 to win and place on the horse, then noticed the show pool. Of the total pool of $1679, the outside horse had $1230 on it.

Naturally I bet $20 to show on the #8 immediately, just before the start.

Long story short, the #9 was 35-1 and had no shot in hell of hitting the board. Some dumbass must have been drunk and fired that on him.

#8 won the race, paid $8.80, $5.00, and $14.20. I made more for my show bet than I'd have made had I hit the trifecta, which paid $112.20 for a buck.

I was at the track one day in days gone by and this guy was rootin and tootin for a horse who was leading in the stretch by 5 lengths. The horse was 10-1 and he won the race. The guy was ecstatic and claimed he bet $50 w/p on him. When he looked at his ticket his jaw dropped and dejection set in. He had the wrong numbers on his ticket.

Needless to say he had a glass of beer in his hand and was piss drunk. shootme
