In the last picture on the bottom - is that a staggered starting gate?

Very slowly now, sit down, give your car keys to somebody and wait until the gate looks normal.

Dooesn't look like it to me Tony B, if so it's very little slant.

Grandstand looks like it's gonna be cold and rainy in bad weathet, and having patrons climb ladders doen't seem optimal. 8)

Pezz,

I have dumb question, the Grandstand looks like it's at about the three quarter marker , are they going to move the finish line , tote board and big screen in the center field too idunno

I do not see the logic in this?

The grandstand is being built on the back stretch. When complete, it will become the front stretch.

The old grandstand will become more parking spots for Met Life Staduim , so everything will just be flipped

With everything flipped, that puts the new grandstand on the east (NE) side of the track.  When the old grandstand becomes a parking lot, that opens up a potential problem with glare from the setting sun on a clear day.  Short-lived Pinnacle Race Course in Michigan was built with that perspective, and it greatly impacted the fans ability to watch the races.  Patrons in the temporary clubhouse had to menus as sun shades in order to see TV monitors within arm's reach.

Might be a good place for a Jumbo-Tron TV to block the sun. Just a thought.

With a 7:15 start on the east coast, what it is it going to affect 3 races?

I'm going to assume there will be seats in the clubhouse dinning room with a panoramic view of the track.  Patrons in those seats, "behind the glass", will not like sitting in direct sunlight for a couple of hours, air conditioning not withstanding.  It's a catch 22 situation because any attempt to provide shade means spoiling the view and the esthetics of the new grandstand.  I've looked at an artist's rendition of the new building, and there is a awful lot of tall glass facing southwest.  I wonder if the angle of the sun was taken into consideration when the grandstand was designed.

I was wondering what the new Meadowlands is going to do for parking ? you wouldn't think there would be a whole lot of space left after the new grandstand is up on that side , Paterson Plank Rd is butted right up against the old barn area.

You wouldn't think they would make the people walk all they way around from Met Life.

Does anybody know if they're going to have some kinda paddock park for bands and entertainment ?  I just hope the seating outside isn't like what the casinos did .. aka (chester, meadows, pocono)

And im sure hoping for another Kahuna Wedge  !!

Shuttle buses can move a lot of people in a short period of time... maybe that's a part of the plan. I have no idea.
