Only because the thieving politicians are probably on the casinos' payroll. birdienana

I am thinking it will be like it was before this bill was created. People in Illinois will still be able to bet online, just not on Illinois product. Guess I will be breaking the law come Jan 1 again

If I was a gambler I'd fire away too.

Maybe you & I could join a Ballet Troupe. We'd look great in a Tutu!
-
If this is like before this law went into effect, it won't hurt me. The people it will hurt are the people who like to bet Illinois racing at home and the horseman of both breeds as they won't be getting their cut.
Where is Old And Slow to Confirm this ????

Not after seeing Brokeback Mountain... I'm afraid of cowboys.

This is one of those fixes I can't believe this state gets itself into. Moe, Larry, Curly stuff.
The current ADW law expires 1/1 as has been noted. There are rumors that one or more may continue to operate as usual. These are just rumors.
Pezz, I will try to find out the legality of operating as they did before the law was passed. I'm not convinced that legalities will play a role in what happens. It could be destined for court. One ADW in particular likes suing states, has a couple going now. It's initials are Twin Spires.
It's going to be interesting come the first of the year.

Got this email today. I expect the other companies will be following suit tomorrow. These guys are a f**king joke.
Dear Robert,
The Illinois Racing Board has instructed ALL licensed account wagering companies to cease accepting wagers from Illinois residents until further notice. The law authorizing account wagering recently expired and has not been renewed.
Effective Thursday morning, January 10th, Illinois customers will no longer be allowed to wager through TVG.
TVG's website will remain available to access funds and view or purchase handicapping information however wagering will not be allowed.
We apologize for this inconvenience and remain hopeful the law will be renewed in the near future.
Sincerely,
TVG Customer Service Team

Last Saturday I noticed I couldn't bet Balmoral with Twin Spires. Now I can't bet at all? Oh well I will just empty my account and spend it in Vegas.
-
So, the ADWs continued doing business illegally, until receiving an official position from the Illinois Racing Board?
I can provide an Ohio address for anyone who wants to move at a very reasonable fee. 4pezz2

looks to me like nothting was more important during the lame duck session than passing a bill to give drivers licenses to undocumented aliens
-
It is very simple to get an address that is out of state. For example, a p.o. box at a place willing to forward to your other address. Just make certain you pick a state with no income taxes, i.e. Florida.

Looks Like Twinspires, and Xpressbet will continue

Only about 13 hours. Not bad but I hate the mountains, thus I go 40 east to 44 north to 70 east..

I was able to make a wager on Dover today through TwinSpires. Let's see how long they hold out.

IL is like living in Disneyworld without the funny cartoon characters.

We were better off in the Capone era.

Pops emailed them today and they say they will continue as usual. The exception is no May/Balmoral. For us, not a big deal lol

At least Twinspires carries the Balmoral feed, so I can watch at home. Am only a few minutes from the OTB, but when there are late scratches and you can't change your ticket, it sucks.
Maybe, iI will venture a few bets on the Big M this weekend. About the only stategy I have is to expect the unexpected.
