As a geographer, I have always been interested in the distribution of agricultural products.  There could be some money to be made out of this.

Trust me, more and more research on marijuana  is being done. The feds are really going to come out of this looking like total idiots when all is said and done.

It is my true belief that the only reasons weed is illegal federally are as follows:

a) Population control. Cannabis cures cancer in many cases.

b) Thieving politicians. They are bribed by booze companies, drug companies, and private jail/prison operators to keep pot illegal.

c) Brainwashed law enforcement. Anyone with half a brain knows pot users are much more mellow than alcohol users. Cops have always been brainwashed into believing weed is a "gateway drug" and that it is the worst thing on Earth. Bullshit. I had three glasses of wine last night and woke up with a headache today. If I had three tokes off a Volcano vaporizer, I would have slept better, woke up with no headache, no body aches or at least much less pain, and would have been completely clear headed.

It is time for the USA to wake up and take the worldwide initiative on marijuana. The effects on our environment would be wonderful, people would be infinitely healthier, and farmers could make money instead of the drug cartels. And the frigging government could tax people more.

I never could use weed because it made me super paranoid... learned that in my college years. As a taxpayer I wish they would turn all the people in prison loose that are in there for weed possession. It costs a fortune. I moonlighted as a bartender at a time and realized that the drunks were much harder to deal with than the stoners. (also learned that you pull a guy through the door backward and then throw them, 'cause if you try to throw them out head first they can grab onto the door jamb) Important information for guys my size.

Northern California's Humboldt County has been, among other things, a pot growers heaven for years. When I lived out there after leaving the Navy, a deputy on the Marin County sheriffs office told me that should I have to be in the county or in Arcata for any reason to be damned careful of who I spoke to and how I addressed them.
It was supposedly something like "Deliverance", California style up there. Only got there twice in some 17 years  ;D
