Approval given to build new Lebanon Raceway
November 14, 2012
The moving of Lebanon Raceway in Ohio got a big boost on Tuesday when Warren County Commissioners approved site plans that will allow the building of a new multi-million-dollar racetrack and casino in Turtlecreek Township near Dayton. The project is scheduled to begin next month and last a year.
Lebanon Raceway was sold earlier this year to Churchill Downs Inc. and Delaware North Gaming & Entertainment Cos. The new racino will be a 188,000-square-foot building that could hold up to 2,500 slot machines. Plans call for the building of a five-eighths mile racetrack.
Reports state that construction is expected to cost $105 million, with another $70 million going toward expenses such as license fees and land. For those familiar with Ohio, the new racino will be located at the northeast corner of state Route 63 and Union Road.
While approval has been given to Lebanon, Penn National Gaming is still waiting on word from the Ohio Racing Commission on its plans to relocate Raceway Park in Toledo to the Dayton area.

Seems awfully aggressive that they could have the place up to go in just about 14 months..... Any word on the track size ? I would assume they are not going to have a barn area and build one large detention barn and keep Lebanon as a training center.
Has Northfield broke ground or anything yet ?
What is the latest on the Raceway moving to Dayton ? That really seeems to have quieted down.....
