Sacramento, CA --- Saturday was a very sad day for our CHHA Board, for our fellow horsemen and horsewomen, and for the harness industry overall. It was learned that our friend and fellow horsemen, Alan Kirschenbaum, has passed away.

Alan's passing was reported in Saturday's Variety.com.

We are all greatly saddened by his death, and extend our condolences to his immediate and extended family, colleagues and friends. We will miss him!

I know Mr Kirschenbaum as the guy on the receiving end of Bill O'Donnell's infamous "No Shit" comment on Live TV. I have that video posted on You Tube.

I just noticed that You Tube has edited the original 29 second video down to 20 seconds, eliminating the "no shit" portion.

RIP Mr Kirschenbaum  redrose

Either an intentional or accidental drug overdose redrose.

I raced against him in a couple East-West amateur series. Somewhere is a very funny video of me interviewing him, him answering every question with a question of his own, and him ending it with "no shit."
When I was doing a lot of comedy and script writing, he willingly gave me a lot of time and advice and helped me sell a lot of material and never asked for anything in return.

He will be sadly missed. My prayers go out to his family.

Well put, Giss.   Such a terrible tragedy.   51 years young.  I first met Alan in the drivers room at either Mohawk or the Meadowlands....very nice fella, full of enthusiasm.   RIP Alan,

Sadly, that's what happened to Brian Penske. He had some drinks and followed them with a presription drug before going to bed. Never woke up. I felt so bad for his loved ones... they were devastated. redrose
