Title: American National Night Balmoral 11/10
Post by: pezz97 on September 25, 2012, 02:39:59 PM
Seen it in a few other threads, so I figured I would start one for it.

We are planning on heading out to Balmoral for AM NAT night. ITS outing for anyone who wants to come. This will be 3 years in a row we have gotten together for this.

Bump - right now the weather looks very favorable for Saturday. Anybody who is in the area that has never been to an ITS outing really should think about joining us.
Just for fun lets make a top 10 (or more) list of memorable ITS moments at Balmoral.

1) Mr B yelling "Come on Ronnie" while watching a stretch dual at Yonkers during the playing of the National Anthem.  hammerhead1

2. Yeah Baby announcing his 70th consecutive bet at Balmoral without cashing a ticket!  (looks like he won't make it this time, and who can blame him?)

When Mr & Mrs Chicago Jazz brought their little baby boy dressed in a Chicago Cubs uniform and I yelled. "Child abuse, child abuse!"

When YB & I got into high gear on the beer and noc said, "I'm starting to feel sorry for the bartender."

When noc commented "look at that one limp, he looks lame" yet that one turned out to be an easy winner at long odds. The Skipper cashed BIG and begged noc the rest of  the night to point out more limping, lame horses.

I once had it lined up with Andy Miller to meet with Pezzy & Tony B. I was  going to say, "One of these guys hates you, the other one loves you. You guys work it out." Then neither one could make it to the track. Screwed up my whole gag. Too bad, Andy was all in. I was dying to see the look on Pezzy's face.

If you think he can win then he's YOUR boy. No shot IMO  shootme

One more - at our one and only visit to Maywood to visit Race Track Phil. I brought along my buddy Phil (no relation to RTP) who I've know since pre-school. Phil is not shy about wagering (mostly football and casino) but not much with the horses. I asked him if he wanted to go partners on a M1 PK4. He said sure and without hesitation handed me the roughly $50 for half the ticket. Naturally we win. IRS ticket. Phil had no idea what horses we had nor did I tell him. I simply told him "we won" and handed him his share, which was over $500. The look on his face was priceless.

Record high temp near 70 tomorrow but the wind will be howling from the South, which will be in the horse's face in the stretch.

That will always be my favorite moment, mostly because it was the first outing and for the most part no one had really met anyone in person. That was kinda the ice breaker moment where we all just laughed together, both at you and with you. You were also kind enough to plan our next outing at Hoosier. Eddie Money!

I'm loving today! American National!! Its one of my favorite days, especially now that I'm winning.
Guys check out Race #11 First Class all the Way w/ Tim Tetrick. I got the tip from Peter Joseph at bethorsewin.com. Personally, I've been winning BIG with this handicapper - and I mean, I'm taking home money. I know what it is to lose, and i hate the feeling, so i wanted to share the tip with everyone.
Look out for Race #11 First Class all the Way.

An unseen circumstance will prevent me from making it tonight. I was really looking forward to seeing all my friends, and witnessing Chapter Seven's final race. Oh well, life doesn't come with a script that is always unchanging.

Best of luck to Donna Lee-Ozment & 'Unique'... also hope to see all the winners riding on wheels made by her son.

I'll also miss getting a very fine cigar from Chicago Jazz. Have fun guys and win lots of money! I'll be with you in spirit.

TonyB let me hook onto his account. Now I'm betting for him left & right, and he's losing his arse. rflmao1

Thanks again Tony, you're tops. And kick Skippers ass for me, I can't reach it. Wish I could be there.

I don't know Brandon Bates and have never seen him drive. When he came down into Oosting in the 1st turnin the 5th race it looked like a terrible move and caused a wreck that knocked out several. He was driving a 73/1 shot and Oosting was driving a 66/1 shot. A move like that in a big stake race costs people alot of money and get people & horses badly injured. I don't usually criticize drivers. Could be that the filly dove in before he could stop her. If not he really needs to reset his priorities.

Oh, I did a stupid thing for a guy that's been around horses my entire life. I was leading 3 mares in from the turn-out paddock. One was in heat because of the warm weather, and she's always bitchy when she's horsing so I had her on my right and the other 2 on my left. Missy Pissy started screaming and kicking just as we were going through the gate... one of the others ran backwards to escape the kicking. All I had to do was let go (hell, they're easy to catch if they get loose) but I was focusing on the kicker and hanging on with the other hand. Bottom line: Hand raked across steel gate and fractured middle finger. My Bride needed to go to her Mom's in St Louis, so I lost my designated driver, anyway.

Thanks to TonyB I still got to watch on my computer. Thanks Bud!

Great picture guys!  Made me get out the old pics we have from Balmoral and Hoosier!  Hope you guys made money...I on the other hand, won only purse money last night as it was one of those nights where every decision I made was wrong, and every decision a driver made was bad for me!   rflmao1   rflmao1   rflmao1

Looks like you guys had a blast! I looked and looked and looked at that pic trying to figure out how Pezz got as tall as G-Man. Finally when I blew the pic WAYYY up, I figured it out.

 dorkusinterruptus

I've been under the weather the past couple of weeks, battling pain in my mouth, foot, and back. Have not been on as much as normal. As visit to Madam Ling Ling might be in order. She has a way of making me feel very, very good no matter how sick I might be.

Really wish I could have been there last night.  4pezz2

I am glad he won for you but I was always warned about listening to people with two first names.

You can always tell trackman that at least it wasn't getting your coveralls on a shaft and getting your leg broke. Then your daughters had to tell me how he flipped his chair over backwards and was trying to push it back up with his billy-club 'cause he couldn't use his broken leg.

Those girls are just so damn sympathetic. rflmao1
