Never done it myself but been to several. I know the cooks did it real slow over several hours. Bet you could find hints in a google search. There are many cooking sites on the web.

Here's one for ya Tross: A buddy of mine was in the graduating class from the U of I Vet school, so they decided to roast a pig. They bought one, and since they just finished Vet school and knew everything, they euthanized it. After it cooked for hours, they started slicing at mealtime. It smelled just like the chemicals they used to kill it. They passed the hat to get enough money to send somebody to KFC.

ps, make sure to use a meat thermometer. Have fun.

I haven't seen a pig but I believe either dirty jobs or an episode of Andrew Zimmern's show show them butchering a cow.

The proper way to start a good Pig BBQ is to cut of the genitalia, salt and pepper and gag away.

You c********rs.

That is a direct quote from Pigland to you.

FWIW, the collared peccary, or javelina, a close relative of the pig family, is considered an outstanding animal to be slow roasted on a spit.

Pig isn't the only item on the menu. Juice will be served also.

I'm changing the subject...........we used to have our barn fridge in the tack room where it now resides and won't freeze up in the winter and miraculously stores water, beer and pop at a greater rate than previous........... idunno............anywho...........one summer day I brought in a potato salad and a pork roast I didn't quiet get cooked all the way through and planned on slicing it up and finishing in off on the grill for lunch..........well those plans fell thru so I just left the undercooked pork in the fridge for the next day...............while going over the barn tapes I had the pleasure watching some of our fine upstanding trainers and drivers raid the fridge right around bar closing.........eating the potato salad with their fingers AND one, not mentioning names.......Wyatt Irvine..........chowing right down on RAW pork!  :P

I left him a message and pointed out the reason he is violently hungover this morning may have nothing to do with alcohol.  dorkusinterruptus

Along those lines.......I just opened up a package of Jimmy Dean sausage to prepare a Sunday morning feast and it smelled sour.......hhmmmmmmm..........how well do I like my family?

what a worthless post

This whole thread is worthless and if you have not figured it out yet it is a shot at pigland and whatever

is going on at other forums and involves no one here, why the f*ck someone would bring this shit here

is beyond me the creator of this thread is or was a member of the other forums where this belongs why

the hell don't he keep this shit there where it belongs ? I'm starting to agree with Beans this place is

turning into a sewer and nothing is being done about it.

I would but I can't lie to the United States Government when I go to mail it and they ask me if there is anything hazardous in the package.
