Letting the winners of the slims pick their post makes them even heavier favorites.
I do think Storman Normand offers tremendous value Especially if he goes off 15-1 or higher.

Gillis and Jamieson chose first for Knows Nothing, followed by Toscano and Tetrick for Market Share. Takter then took the rail for Uncle Peter.
Generally the trainer or driver will say, "we'll talk it over" when asked what post they'd like--not Takter. With Pierce standing next to him, he said he wasn't sure; he'd have to think about it. I don't think he cares what post Pierce prefers.
Guccio, who has a lot of talent but just one 2012 win to show for it, gets stuck with his trainer in the bike again.

They must have figured out beforehand that they wanted the best horses outside of them if possible. idunno
With Pierce driving in a race over $1,000,000 purse, the horse will most likely win no matter the post. Mr. Money is the man on when the $$$ are down.
I once asked Mr. Pierce why this is and he simply said, "Because I need the money worse than the other guys." I love Ron Pierce!

As a side note, it seems very strange that neither Brian Sears or David Miller are in the Hambo.

Gym Tan Laundry has had five different drivers in his last six starts. Brennan drove him to a third place finish last week so he gets him in the final.
Brennan, who swept the Hambo and Oaks last year with 6/1 Broad Bahn and 24/1 Bold And Fresh, has two 30/1 shots going this year

Campbell is 57, while Mike Lachance, who drives My MVP in the Hambo, is 62.
JC had that bad accident at Harrahs a year ago, while Lachance is something of a fitness buff.

Mr MVP is trained by Tony Alagna, an alum of HHYF Youth Camp. Before the card, the HHYF Youth Final will be held. Details will be released as soon as Mr Alagna returns a phone call. ;D

A good buddy of mine, Mr. Predicto, says the winner will be no worse than 4th at the 3/4. I told him you can say that about any race and be right a lot more than you would be wrong.
Uncle Peter, seems to be at his best right now and that spells trouble for the rest. I have to give Market Share a shot. Tim Terrific just might get the job done,. Archangel looks to be rapidly improving and could surprise. I've got a lot of respect for Jimmy M's abilities. Money On My Mind, not highly rated by most, but we haven't seen his best yet. Could benefit big time by any foolishness of others.
In the Oaks it is all Check Me Out. They have been trying to talk up the other nice filly to create interest, but don't be fooled. As for Jonas C, he must have visited Vegas and tried LVGD's hookah.

Tim Tetrick is hungry to cross a Hambo win off his bucket list, so he'll be focused. Of course, he always tries anyway. We've been buddies forever and I always cheer for him.
