Title: Mark Saporito hurt in Maywood spill.
Post by: Hugh Jass on October 15, 2011, 11:02:33 AM: Prayers for a speedy recovery for Mark, he has been driving here as long as I can remember.

Mark went down in Maywoods 14th race last night and has a broken collar bone among

other bumps and bruises and he is no spring chicken. Get well soon !

I know Johnny "THE ROCKET" Roberts went down also but he is fine along with all horses involved.

Thought I read on another forum that there were other serious injuries including a fractured hip ? Hopefully, your account is accurate.

That could be true I just posted what was texted to me last night. I've known Mark for years

and he is a good person and I hope he heals quick.

He used to drive our horses back in the very late 80's.
Was always a great guy.

He drove a few of mine too. Its Blue Plate Special beating Wiregrass Kerrigan at more than 40-1 !! Wishin A Speedy recovery Sapo !!

He can't have any weight on that joint for at least 6 weeks. Since his collar bone is broken he can't use crutches, so he's going to have a slow complicated recovery. I sure wish him the best, that's tough hand he was dealt.
