Post by: Elgin on June 12, 2012, 11:23:00 AM
Googoo Gaagaa, the lightly staked Cams Rocket trotter that won the Simpson a month ago, is entered in the first Beal elimination at Pocono on Friday.

Finaly get to see what hes made of.

This will be followed closely by the Yonkers trot and the Dancer.

After that dunno where he will go.

If hes good in Oct I would assume will pay the 67,000$ to get into the breeders crown.

Goo goo is a 7-2 morning line?

Is it  like chester when they gave him a 9/2 and he went off 3/5? or can I get something near 7/2?

I complained last week when he was a 2-1 morning line and went off 1-5. But the chester lines always suck. This is one of the problems with the sport. Morning lines are now a joke and no one puts any effort into them. It hurts the casual fans and the guys who dont follow that particualr track. It used to be a gauge of a horse in some way. It is no more. And I see that as another problem of the many.

In the entire 15 race card there are only two horses listed below 5-2, those two being Magic Tonight in the first division of the Beal and Uncle Peter (part of an entry) in the second. In the first division he made Modern Family (1) 5-2 off a win over nw2 at M1, while Little Brown Fox, who just won the $150,000 NJSS final is also 5-2 from the outside post. Frost Bites K, who was second in the Dexter and won a $90,000 Super Bowl division last week at The Meadows is 6-1 from a middle post. And Googoo is 7-2. Weird.

Goo is the 4th horse according to the ML.

The pools there are small so there may be abberations. But I highly doubt you get bove 2-1.
If I could be guarenteed 7-2 on Goo goo Id bet 50 to win.
Anyone wanna book the bet?

7/2 is a bad line probably is my take on it after furthur review.

But there are 14 horses in the elims and 9 goto the finals.
So betting the win maybe not too smart. Dont really need to push too hard to get to the final.

In the second elimination Takter made the pace with Nothing But Class while Pierce took back with Uncle Peter. That strategy backfired as Palone brushed to the top approaching the second turn with Stormin Normand and was never headed. Pierce was too late and too wide with Uncle Peter. He finished second. The mile went a tick slower than Googaa's.

3-year-old trotting colt Googoo Gaagaa rolled to a victory in world record time in an elimination race for the Earl Beal Jr. Memorial Trot on Friday night at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. The race carried a purse of $25,000.

In the first of two eliminations, Googoo Gaagaa, who came into the start with nine wins in ten career races, made the lead with a swooping move around the first turn after leaving from post position #6 in the seven-horse field. Driver Corey Callahan never had to ask the 3-year-old son of Cam

I feel bad for CC in a way all he can do is mess up like that one time at chester.

If Goo draws anywhere inside at all I think he just goes straight to the top.

Hambo society shuld offer a 100,000$ supplement you add to the purse.
him not being there will cheapen it as he will probably beat every horse in it in one of these series.

Last year Dejarmbro won the Beal at 8-5 in 52.2. Palone used the exact same strategy he used with Stormin Normand tonight. Broad Bahn and Pastor Stephen battled to the quarter in 27.1, then Palone brushed to the top with Dejarmbro and that was that--he won by two. He never won another open race--only those in the NYSS. Big disappointment.

It wont have the best horse.

They need to change the rules and offer a 100K supplement that goes into the purse so the other horses can win it.

Shame when the best horses are not in the sports premier race.

Check out Archangel (1-9), who won a 70K split of the NYSS at Buffalo today for Jim Morrill. Nice Credit Winner colt--eligible to the Yonlers Trot. His mama is Michelle's Angel, winner of the Bluegrass and the Casual Breeze, and grandma is the outstanding mare, Almost An Angel. Archangel was second to Uncle Peter in the BC elim last year. Lots of NYSS but he's better than that. He's one to watch.

The Hambo is really the exception and not the rule for these big races. You can supplement into most. And I am betting in a few years they will be offering one too.
But that doesnt help this years race at all.

Goo is #2 in the poll this week.
Same amount of first place votes as the leader. And only 4 points behind the leader.

Only 5 horses total dropped into the Yonkers trot. So no elim for Googoo and no outside post in the final.

The other 4 are as follows.

Stormin Normand, Archangel, Market Share and Muscolo.

Unfortunately that's the norm for stakes races at YR these days. Only six in--five betting interests--with no eliminations last year. Archangel and Normand are both very good. Market Share won his Goodtimes elimination but was too far back to do anything in the final. Muscolo is no factor.

Most would rather race in the Reynolds over the big track.

Its $10,000 just to start the elimination then 10,000 for the final.

and if you draw the outside your in BIG trouble there.

Then throw in a horse who is going to be a heavy favorite so you are most likely racing for second at best. And stormin Normand is a super good horse too. So its tough.

The trotting side has kinda bred itself into a corner, and desperately in need of out-crosses. That's something that made Kadabra so sought after. Googoo's mom is by Veeba Rova who sires some monster trotters in Michigan. (who often beat me at Balmpk) It'll be interesting to see what's in GG's future.

Kadabra goes back to Nevele Pride and ultimately Stars Pride on top. Just as McArdle is keeping Bret Hanover from biting top line dust in NA, Kadabra is doing the same for Nevele Pride in NA.

I understand that there's trotting ability on the bottom, but give me a list of the successful trotting stallions who are by pacing stallions from the last forty years.

Googoo is a freak. Revenue was brought over to provide outcross opportunities. How much support did he get? Where is he now?

1 you can supplement into a ton of these races. If he wants.

Goo is holding ALL the cards for hambo day.
Hold out. And the appearence fee should be higher than the winners purse in the Nat Ray.

What is a recent precedent for appearance money? Back in the day Eddie Cobb  would play Yonkers off against Roosevelt in search of a hefty bonus for Adios Butler breaking the TR.

Dancer and management at Vernon wanted Albatross to set an all-age mile record at that track, so management put together a $20,000 open with a $5,000 bonus going to the horse that could break the record. Neither the weather nor the field cooperated so the record stood.

If he goes in The Dancer the fans will have already seen him at the Meds.
Pay him an appearance fee and give nothing to Chapter 7 ? Or the others ?

KEEP ON DREAMING HE DESERVES NO SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS.

San Pail's connections say that after the Maple Leaf the gelding's schedule will be pretty much the same as last year. He won the Nat Ray last year. So Gural is going to slip X amount to Googoo Gaagaa just for showing while making the 2011 HOY earn every penny he takes out of there? That would be a tough sell.
