Take a look at Mr Ken Devaus' drive (on #3) at Monticello on Oct 25, race 12. It seems he was on a mission to destroy either his own horse or the 2/5 favorite on the rail. In the end he only managed to destroy his own horse who finished dead last. I would have loved to interview and and take some comments from the people who bet his horse that night. I am sure they would have been in unprintable words.
This ignoramus should have been called to the judges room and asked what he was upto and what was his intention in that race. The judges, to the fans horror, chose to do nothing. He must have looked at the 10 length gap that he had created with the rail horse and the rest of the field at least 3 or 4 times but chooses not to take it and drive on. I am so glad the favorite on the rail went on to win the race. Had he not I am sure you would have seen some broken benches and window panes at Monticello after the race was over.

Reminds me of the old days when Paisley and Buch were feuding.
It was safe to use sleepy or Conley in a race them 2 were in.

Relief. Saw the topic and thought someone was posting one of my Billings drives.

When I saw you had the last post I wondered if you were explaining yourself. ;D

sb,
you see it at times , there must have been words in the back between the two or he was trying to sink the 2-5 shot.
It looks like he had control of the horse , so I am kind of surprised no one called him on it.
reminds me of the Nick Clegg days ;D

Tom Simmons & John "Rocket" Reese used to do that to each other all the time at QCD. They'd be last & next to last at the finish and screaming obscenities at each other the entire mile.
I used to love getting away 3rd behind those two. rflmao1

Definetly reinds me of Simmons and Reese, but also of Moonie Svendsen and Yusko.
This driver should be SHOT !!!! What "real" driver wouldn't want a 2 hole trip behind a 2/5 shot?

I remember the time a bettor leaned over the outside rail after a race and called Tom a cheatin' MF'er and threw a cup of beer in his face. Tom immediately nailed the guy across the face with his race whip. That cost him a suspension and fine. But after that night the non-winning drivers were to go on around the track to get back to the paddock instead of coming back in front of the grandstand.

I wish to God I could find a video of the 2006 Little Brown Jug where Tony Morgan drove Tom Harmer's horse.
Pope and I were talking today about that drive. Had to be even worse than the one posted here because it was such a huge raced. Hearing Harmer crying about the stupid drive during the postrace interview was the funniest thing I think I ever saw.
He wanted to say "This dumb m.f. Morgan is the worst driver I've ever seen in my life....", but he tempered it and said "I would have thought Tony would take the 2 hole, but I guess Tony had different ideas...", or something to that effect.

Morgan could drive one, and won alot of races here in IL. But he was not much for diplomacy, which is why I wouldn't use him. He could be an ass even if he won with your horse.
I thought he did a good job as IHHA president... he was the 1st I ever saw stand up to Chicago track owners.

Couple of thoughts. Maybe he doesnt like the driver or the connections on the favorite and was trying to burn him up.
We had feuds here at RCR that played out on the track.
Or he bet against the favorite and wanted to get him beat.
Or and the one I am 99.999999% sure is the case here. The guy is a moron. And should be suspended and fined. I hope it was his horse. Because if it wasnt the owner shuld pistol whip him for that.
-
I guess thats why i couldn't be an owner..As soon as someone drove my horse like that,i'd be waiting for him to get off the horse so i could drop him with just 1 shot...And i'm a easy going guy..I think..
-
I dont see an issue with the drive, he didnt think he had enough room to get into the hole. Always safety first... rflmao1

I am sure some of the patrons at the track that night who bet him had the same feelings.

I know it tickled me when the owner knocked the snot out of Josh "The Chinaman" at HosPk for bringing his horse back after a race cut to ribbons and blood pouring out. The owner got fined, but Sutton got a longggg suspension over the ordeal. I didn't blame the guy at all... I'd have had to pay the fine also.
-
My thought is what owner would put this guy on a bike behind his horse, unless he is as big a moron as the driver!!!

Dover Downs Nov 6 Race 10
Don't have the video for this folks but a rather puzzling drive from two good drivers. Ron Pierce is on #1 and Montrell Teague on #1A a coupled entry at odds of 35 cents to a dollar. Both end up battling each other into a quick half and 3/4 qtrs and both end up nowhere as the hot favorite. Brennan, the eventual winner in a 2nd over situation behind Teague must be laughing his ass off seeing all this transpire.
Here are what their PPs looked like in the race.
