Lou Pena's Wednesday hearing postponed
May 29, 2012
Harnessracing.com has learned Tuesday morning that a hearing scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, with the New York State Racing and Wagering Board (NYSRWB) and recently-suspended trainer Lou Pena has been postponed. According to NYSRWB spokesman Lee Park, the hearing has been "delayed at Pena's attorneys' request. The attorneys will confer to find a mutually available date."
Pena was indefinitely suspended last week by the NYSRWB as a result of an alleged 1,719 drug violations that involved 675 races in New York between January 2010 and April 2012. The suspension came as a result of an investigation that involved the NYSRWB and the New Jersey Racing Commission as Pena's horses are stabled at Gaitway Farm in New Jersey.

It's hard to believe that a lawyer would drag out a case while charging $300-$400 dollars per billing hour. :o
I can see this whole thing becoming a Chinese fire drill.
