Title: Some Oaks Thoughts
Post by: pezz97 on May 02, 2012, 04:23:14 AM
WOW is there a ton a speed in here.

I think this is setting up for Grace Hall and Jemima's Pearl.

Hoping to be home from work in time to play an exacta and some Oaks / Derby DD's with these 2

On Twinspires I think you can bet early. I know one time I bet a race, I forgot where, but it started in the afternoon and they accepted the bet at 7:am our time. Yep at least I won on the bet! rflmao1 rflmao1

Here are my Oaks Day Wagers:

Race 3:

Exacta: 7-8 with 3-4-6-7-8

Race 4:

Exacta: 9-10 with 1-3-4-5-6-9-10

Race 7:

I'm going to go  with a price play and #5 Volcat (12-1). The tricky distance of 7 Furlongs suits this horse and Volcat is making her 3rd start of the layoff. I love to see Leparoux get on this horse and should be able to sit and pounce.

I'll probably play $5 across on #5.

Race 8:

A great race here and what a shock I end up on a longshot  rflmao1 #7 Miz Ida (20-1) is intriguing. She can run on either firm or soft turf and can lay off the pace. This is a deep race so this is a very speculative play.

Exacta key box: 7 with 1-2-3-8-9-10-11-12

Race 9:

Tons of speed in this race. I'm hoping #10 Colizeo (8-1) is ready off this long layoff and can use his speed to stalk instead of setting the pace. He 4 starts at CD with 2 wins, 1 second, and 1 third.

$5 WPS #10

Race 10:

I like #1 Coalpoart (12-1). 3rd start off the layoff and improving with each start. The rail should be perfect to get a nice spot to stalk. Worth the risk at 12-1.

$5 WPS #1

Exacta: 1-2-3 with 1-2-3-5-10-13-14

Race 11: The Kentucky Oaks

I have already stated my plays for this one trying to beat the favorites.

Exacta: 3-8-10 with 1-2-3-5-6-8-10

Exacta: 1-2-3-5-6-8-10 with 3-8-10

I hope the speed falls apart enough for my 3, 8, or 10 to get up for 1st or 2nd.

Good Luck to all those who play

I tried to make an Oaks / Derby DD already but it is not up yet. You can bet the Oaks card already but that is not up  thumbsdown

In Race#9  I love Mucho Macho Man. He has come back a different horse this year and I don't see him losing   $50 to win

My Oaks / Derby DD I am going to play is   $5
2,8 x 3,4,6,8,11,15 ,19   $70

$20 2,8 x 6.  $40 Looking I will be home in time to watch the Oaks! Hell yeah

Ahh ok, Have a great time. Nothing to bet at Arlington. 5 and 6 horse fields till the last. And Dickie still got what he wanted, purses cut 20% for this weekend still. What an asshole

It's tough to forecast a showdown between ITHA and Arlington Park a month before the meet starts when we were buying tickets  rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1

We're not happy about it (well, Unique is because less horses = better chance of hitting a bet)  rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1

Have to be cautious not to blow my whole bank roll ont he Oaks card.  With all the good horses, top trainers and jocks...it's not easy pickins.  Todyay's card starts at 9:30 Central.  Ill just give some thoughts onthe races and and hope I guess right when placing my bets.

Race 1  I like Wine Princess.  Do I key box her or just box her with the others I like Holidys Jewel and Finallyyareallady?  Or just bet her to win?  Will have to watch the odds I guess.

Race 2  One would think the likely fav, Lord Tarzan has to win one of these times, but his past failures make me suspect maybe a long couls come in  I sort of think think Unex Dali will do better than the 15/1 ML would indicate.  Maybe Monarchic at7/2 could get the job done.

Race 3  Wide open I think 3 through 8 have a chance, so if you box1-2-9 you have a winner!!

Race 4  My bets will revolve around Funny Proposition and Woodford Lady.

Race 5  Will box Frontside, Sassy's Dream and Zapparition

Race 6 Plum Pretty looks like a lock

Race 7  will go with hopefully a dynamic duo of Contested and My Due Process

Race 8 The fav, Stephnies Kitten might romp.  Will look to Disposable Pleasure and Goldrush girl to beat her--or not. Also think Welcome Dance might improve.

Will be back in a bit with rest of card. 8) 8) 8)
