I heard Dick Clark being interviewed once. He said one of the biggest mistakes he ever made was when Bobby Darin called to sing a song over the phone that he was going to record. It was "Mack The Knife". After Darin sang it, Clark told him that he wasn't a 'torch singer' and knock it off before you mess up your career. It was only Bobby Darin's biggest hit ever. That told me a lot about about the 'real' Dick Clark. Nothing phony about him. redrose RIP

  Not as bad as Decca passing on the Beatles, but close......
