This is not right. I never could buy into the rules are rules BS. You would think the school would go out of its way to help the kid out. I know some schools around here would have sent a teacher-tutor to his house and days he had to miss to care for his mom.

Sometimes the people in charge of such decisions need to ask themselves, "What would Buddha do?"
Then the right decision would always be made. ;D

I like how they mention he is a baseball player so they can put it in the sports section.
The administrators rank right below the guy that sued one the California baseball team for only giving women a floppy hat on mothers day (for breast cancer) because he said it was discrimination that he couldn't get one. (and his mother died of breast cancer)
