Issued by The National Weather Service Chicago, IL 2:55 pm CST, Sat., Feb. 6, 2010
A STRONG STORM MAY BRING A LOT OF SNOW INTO NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS... NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY.
A STRONG LOW IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND WILL MOVE INTO OHIO WEDNESDAY. THIS STORM COULD BRING SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW INTO THE NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA REGION. WE ARE NOT SURE OF THE TRACK OF THIS STORM AT THIS TIME. BUT WE SUGGEST YOU BE PREPARED FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT.
I knew there was at least one good reason for leaving Glen Ellyn. Call Algore and have him send you a truck load of global warming !

We have at least 12" of heavy friggin snow. I had to shovel the truck out of the garage and the sidewalks I haven't had to shovel snow for ages!!!!! Couldn't get to the track cause our lane did not get plowed til this pm. I wasn't about to attempt THAT!! Have good neighbors at the track tho who took care of the stock for us today. Tomorrow will be a bitch shoveling the barn driveways out but I know where there is a Grandaughter I can persuade to help. Now If I can keep the trackman from falling with his damn cruthes in this slippery mess. Of course there is no way he could stay home . No one will do anything right without him bossing. Heard about the next go round , snow with freezing rain. I guess I probably won't qualify the trotters Tuesday it doesn't sound like.

I left Chicago because of that white crap! After 17 years I had enough. My view is if you want snow drive to the mountains to see it! I'll take the rain and mud any day over that white stuff!

We had over 2 feet of snow, So when I was shoveling the driveway I threw it in the back of the truck figuring the weight would help as I live on top of a"mountain". Well I had so much weight on the back it was driving like I had 2 round bales of hay, Got to the track and threw the snow over the hill.

Just saw on the local news that we will be 'blessed' with 8-10 inches of snow by tomorrow. We just had 1-2in with 40 mph winds yesterday. I just love winter in the midwest.
Sallyjo, you are a GENIUS!

Is it still snowin JS?? forcasted 6-10 by wed pm and blizzard like conditions the next two days It didn't start when predicted. Just started in earnest about an hour ago, with calls for 8 inches within the next 12 hours. Likely to have high winds following it, which will be a much bigger problem with blowing and drifting. Oh well, we've always got through it before, we'll get through it again and again. We're horsemen!
