Him and Pletcher both. Looks like the Juv was a nothing race. Hansen and Creative cause both looked awful in their debuts. Union Rags in this weekend in what will be the toughest Prep race so far.

There are so many of these lists it makes your head spin if you try to read them all. I stick to Jeremy Plonk. His countdown column on Friday's is so detailed and comprehensive it's a must read. I especially like the analysis of the 3 yr old allowance and maiden races that have horses we haven't seen yet in a stakes.

I don't like betting future books. Let's say Union Rags throws in a clunker, then his odds in the derby might go up farther then his 4-1 odds right now. Also you are guaranteed that the runner will start in the race.

I like to play them. Of Course its a gamble just like anything else, but I am looking for a horse or 2 that I will get better odds than if they make the gate for the Derby.

Just like the Oaks Future that opens today, I love the fact that Princess Arabella isn't in the Las Virgenes today. I really could get around the 8-1 she is right now. IMO if she makes the Oaks field, she will not be more than 2-1. Good Value there.

Should be lot's of scrambling after the Florida and LA Derbies. The LA Derby was a killer for me. I had a $15 Tri key with the 2nd place finisher on top and the 3-5 finishers underneath. It sucks getting beat by a $200 horse.

If Gemologist wins the wood, I think he will be the Post time Fav around 5-1

After watching the replay, ( I knew it was a bad ride live) but what an awful ride by Julian. Rags still might be the fav come post time

I told Unique that I will play against Union Rags. He's the best horse, but if Leparoux is going to ride him again in the Derby with all that traffic, I don't know I trust Leparoux to get Rags in the right spot.

I agree 100%. LePew doesn't fit the horse!!! Someone has to be the favorite and Union Rags has the most ink!! His Beyers aren't over the top!

It is funny, the only 3 year old this year with 2 Beyers over 100 is Bodemeister. Because the Illinois Derby is expecting a full field, Baffert had to pull a switch and Run Paynter in the Santa Anita Derby ( He has no graded earnings) And Bode is now going to Arkansas to take on Secret Circle. I think Refeal will ride Bode, but what a decision  he has to make
