O/T Albert Pujols
« on: December 08, 2011, 01:41:54 PM »
Sad day in StL when you lose the best player in baseball. Kind of a strange situation for us, most guys that come here to play never leave. Even though he said money was not the issue an extra $40 million was the issue and I don't blame him for doing what he thought was best.

I appreciate the 11 great seasons he gave us, it was very fun to watch. But I'm not going to be too sad or rip on him. The name on the front of the jersey says Cardinals. That's my team, has been for 45 years and always will be.  We'll be OK.

I do not think any athlete is worth that kind of money.
However if anyone in the game deserves it IMO he does.

Congrat Albert ! Hopefully you are able to play the full 10 yrs you are a pleasure to watch.

Sorry Charlie. I for one, never thought he would leave St Louis.

Earlier this year they unveiled a life size statue of him outside his restaurant in an StL suburb. Going to have police guarding it all night long. Are we freaking Detroit now? Jesus, the guy is a great player but he was here 11 years and we won 2 WS championships. If my math is right 9 others were won without him.

This life-long Redbirds fan will miss him, but doesn't hold any animosity. The market decides what any of us are worth. I'm glad that he left as a class act.(instead of a LeBron)

Thanks for the memories, Albert. thumbsup
Somewhere in Kenya a village is missing it's idiot.
