OT: Indians/Tigers Tickets
« on: May 19, 2012, 06:15:35 AM »
My wife and I might drive to Cleveland next week to see one of the Tigers/Indians game, probably the game on 5/22.  Would I be able to walk up and buy face value tickets on the day of the game?  I need to keep it a last minute decision to travel, so I don't want to buy tickets ahead of time.

You should have no problem at all walking up to the ballpark and getting tickets on the 22nd (or virtually any other day, except fireworks display nights).  The Tribe has only had one sellout this year, on opening day.

When you say last minute, do you mean that you will be in Cleveland and may decide go to, or will you make the decision a few minutes before you leave your house ?

You'll get tickets and have a great time.

We were planning on going to the same game......youngest kids birthday........but he has his first game that night so I think his dad is going to try and take him Wed.

I ask because you may be able to get club seats (all you can eat food and pop) for around $50 after fees on stub hub a few hours before gametime.

Amy has me sit in the club section and bring her stuff to the cheap seats.

My boss has just handed down my marching orders.  No more last minute thing.  We're driving into Cleveland on Monday, swinging by Progressive Field to purchase tickets for Tuesday's game, and running off to Northfield Park for the evening on Monday.  When my two daughters were growing up, I lost every family vote 3-1.  Now that we've been empty-nesters for several years, every vote goes 1-1, and I lose all ties!   idunno

Lockjaw, a trip to the ballpark on Monday is unnecessary. Just show up about an hour or so ahead of the game and park a block or two away from the expensive parking lots. Then ask nearly any scalper on the sidewalks.

My son/brother and I go every year in September and rarely even pay face value.  thumbsup
