Trinninberg may run in the Preakness, Really ?
« on: May 09, 2012, 02:30:57 PM »
The story goes if Bodemeister skips the Preakness Trinniberg is running.

I am thinking that this  is even a worse idea than running in the Derby and for less money.
The horse was demolished by many of the same horses he would face as he faded to 17th.
Take Charge Indy was hurt and the dreaded rail helped kill the useless Dubai poly running horse.I am not even going to look up who ran 18th but Trinni basically beat one horse IMO.
So the Preakness is 1/16th shorter and they think running him is a good idea ?

I actually like Dullahan's chances in the Belmont.

Dullahan was my derby pick. His dam is the dam of Mine That Bird. She would have become the only mare to ever be the dam of two KY Derby winners. She's in foal to a top stallion and has been sold for somewhere between 7-9 $mil. Her owners come from humble beginnings and bought her at an auction for $8600. I love stories like that.

See I like Bode if he runs in the Belmont. He out of Empire Maker who also won the Belmont. thumbsup

I think that Bode was a victim of an early speed duel in the Derby, and is probably the cream of this years crop. I expect him to be a standout regardless of his Derby defeat. jmo
I was cheering for Dullahan for sentimental reasons.

Going in the Preakness, my guess is he will skip the Belmont no matter what he does in the Preakness.

That would be 4 races in 8 weeks for him, and I think Baffert will have him on the same schedule as he did with Lookin At Lucky
