Sebastian K or Sweet Lou?
« on: August 10, 2014, 05:25:41 PM »
Don't get me wrong, Sebastian K has been sensational, but what will it take for Sweet Lou to win HOY honors?

Lou has been nothing short of a beast.  Unlike Sebastian K, Lou is challenged during every race, yet he seems to handle them with ease.

Six consecutive sub-1:48 miles.  Nine consecutive sub-1:49 miles.

Does Lou need to break the all-age mark to win HOY?

Your thoughts?

It's been a great year to be a harness racing fan.

Father Patrick might have been included in this discussion if not for the Hambo break.  Then again, Sebastian K lost the biggest $$$ race of the year for aged trotters (Maple Leaf Trot).

I am partial to Sweet Lou, but I would dearly love to see a top driver driving Sebastian K. I like the way his guy drives, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he is in the same league as the top ten or so North America drivers.

Sweet Lou holds a special place in my heart because he was having a disappointing three year-old season until the day after my uncle Lou (about the sweetest human being ever to grace this world) passed away. After that, Sweet Lou became the monster many of us expected him to be.

As of this moment, Sebastian K remains my #1 in the poll and for HOTY. But there is a long way to go. Anyone who has decided already is being disingenuous at best. If both win out, the trotter gets it. If one wins out, he gets it. If both lose the BC, things get interesting

Has to be Sweet Lou!  Hands down!

Look at the open pacers division versus open trotters division...hard to believe SL has been so dominant.  But of course, there is still 5 months left in the year and voters tend to remember what happens in Sept to Nov more than May to July.

I agree , Sweet Lou is the hands down winner imo right now , the aged trotting group is the weakest its been in years .

Market Share is nowhere near the horse he was last year , Arch Madness is just a shell of himself ,Mister Herbie hasn't been good in 2 years , Uncle Peter hasn't even cracked a 100k for the year yet , Archangel is just 2 for 11 this year .

When Ron Pierce says he could shatter the world record anytime he wants to should tell you all you need to know

I also would vote Sweet Lou. The way he keeps dominating the top open horses every week isn't something you see very often. I do know I really look forward to Lou, Sebastian and He's Watching now that he's right again after the early hiccups, racing every time they're in.

I love Pierce interviews  rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1 What do you think of your Hambo chances? Well I don't like them too much, but the horse did pick up 4 seconds last time, so if he does that again...
