TSA Suspected 4-Year-Old Girl Had A Gun
« on: April 26, 2012, 06:22:03 AM »
This reminds me that I often have been asked to remove my baseball cap when passing through security.  Now I just take it off along with my belt, shoes, bullet -proof vest and gold ankle bracelet. Yet, I have been on planes where folks are covered head to toe,(only a few holes to see through in their hood) yet they were not asked to remove anything.

Four-year-old Isabella Brademeyer ran from Transportation Security Administration officials who wanted to frisk her.Isabella Brademeyer, a 4-year-old from Montana, was deemed a high security threat by Transportation Security Administration officers after hugging her grandmother.

Isabella, her sister, her mother and her grandmother were traveling home to Montana after attending a wedding in Kansas.

The family passed through security scanners, but the grandmother triggered an alarm. Isabella ran back and hugged her grandmother. It was at this point that TSA officials thought the grandmother had handed Isabella a gun.

If they felt a gun triggered the alarm, have the girl walk through the security detectors again.  Problem solved.

Far too simple, Jeremy. The Gumment don't werk that way.

I flew out of St Louis, headed for Houston to pick up a new car for my Brides birthday. I got pulled out of line for an extended search. Turns out I had a brand new tube of Colgate toothpaste that was too big for TSA rules (which was promptly thrown in the trash) and I was sent on my way, after repacking all my stuff. They were as pleasant as a toothache through the entire ordeal.

A smile would go a long way........seem like a very disgruntle group.........which I'm sure dealing with a bunch of assholes all day would make one so..........BUT.........shouldn't that be part of the training?  Learning to handle grumpy travelers.  Knowing how to deal with them in a manner which doesn't escalate a situation?
