This article reminded me of something.

We largely see what we expect to see," says Daniel Simons, one of the study's creators and now a professor of psychology at the University of Illinois.

I think these words are true and was wondering how it can become an impediment to handicapping.  Do we really look at the PPs and replays with an open mind, or do we see what we expect to see?
