So disappointed in the Bears this season.   Been away on a lot of  business, this past Sunday in New Orleans and fortunately we had another function to attend so I didn't hole up in the room or in a bar to watch the Bears debacle.
As for New Orleans, gotta tell you, the City gets Very Unhappy when the Saints lose, particularly like they did Sunday!

I hear you, Mo Doc N.   Lincoln has got to be turning over in his grave the way things in the Land of Lincoln are going.   Its a shame my kids still live there and are subject to the corruption and ineptness that surrounds Illinois.  No leadership, just a self-serving machine and people that somehow still keep electing these so called leaders that are anything but!

I see maywoodmaniac's question didn't get answered......Tom announced harness at Balmoral (but not for long) and I dont recall about t-breds (or the years) for that matter.   As for Phil - I couldn't agree more!   "Heeere they come, spinning out of the turn......!"    Or, "Dashing thru the snow........!"

Great to be here but this place really needs to open the dining room and buffet BEFORE live racing begins!  People like to eat before the races....at least we do!

The whole thing, regardless of format and who beat who, was a lot more exciting than watching the Cubs of White Sox... this year has been God awful for those two teams so the LLWS was a breath of fresh air.

Its been four years since we last visited the Route 8 establishment so we are really looking forward to a visit on the last Friday of this month.   Races on Friday, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday.....last time we were there our trotter got claimed on a snowy February night.   It was nice to walk out with a win but sad to lose the horse that was supposed to have been my ride during the summer in amateur events.   Hope to see some of our Ohio and Michigan friends racing at the banked turned oval.    :)

thanks much

she had plenty of trot and appears to be in her best form of the year

always is a great night at the track when your horse wins, nothing better than that

Congratulations on the win.   You are correct, nothing quite like that winning feeling!

Not related to the mishap but I suspect many posters have little first hand knowledge of Summerside and most  have not been there.  I have been there.   Very countrylike atmosphere, very friendly place and people.   Racing for small purses but loving it were the horsemen.  It was a really good feel and people were very welcoming.   Liked it a lot.  I have a nice coffee mug from Summerside at our home and see it almost daily which brings back fond memories of Summerside, Charlottetown, the whole PEI experience.....We'd go again if the opportunity presented itself.
