I'll admit it-I have been one of Danny Noble's biggest critics for many years. First it was the alcohol and drug demons holding him back. Then he would seemingly go totally brain-dead with a horse that was 5 seconds the best and roll him to the half in 54 seconds or something just as bad.
Earlier this year I told Danny when he has his head out of his ass, he can drive one with just about anyone. He just laughed, and in Danny's humble style, asked if I thought his head was out of his ass at the present time.
He's just a great guy and can literally smoke a horse. Back in the day of time trials, Danny would be one of my top choices to put a record on a horse. I don't know how, he just makes one go fast for as far as the horse can go.
One non-driver who thinks he can drive related to me that "when 'we' (the bigger names) are around, Danny can't drive with us." Well I have news for that guy, he never could drive as good as Danny can. And yes I pointed that out to him that day. I am not buying the big fish, small pond thing here!
I have to say that as mad as I was at Danny early in the season, he has made a believer out of me. I wish he could go elsewhere and drive for bigger purses just to silence the critics.
Congratulations on the dash winning title. It's just a shame you probably barely cleared $100K after all those wins, but you made people notice you!
This being said, I would not put him up on any horse that was not ready to rock and roll. 8)

I did too thumbsup That first one at 6-1 was kind of funny. The doubles were the lowest with him. I loved it when he cleared by 5. bowdown

I'm very certain that has already been or will be taken care of asap. Danny's been kind of busy to worry about paying a $100 fine for not driving when he was programmed, especially when he was delayed in traffic. Pretty chickenshit fine and suspension in my opinion.

Ok I will put this to rest right now. Just got off the phone with Danny Noble, who is vacationing in Key West, Florida.
His fine to the Meadows was paid Friday morning. He is fully able to drive anywhere in the USA except Indiana, and he will be working on getting into Indiana soon.
Yes I am biased towards Danny, I admit it. I was his biggest basher online when he was doing his dumbass kid stuff. Despite this, when I met Danny, I apologized for being so hard on him doing dumb shit and told him that I thought he was about as good as anyone when his head is not up his ass. He laughed and said "Don't worry about it. Do you think my head is out of my ass now?"
He's just a real good guy and about as good as anyone at getting speed out of a horse. I will take Brett and Danny over nearly anyone on the racetrack. He cannot be pushed around because he is just that good.

I think we can congratulate Dan Kennedy for his outstanding year in 2012. Two wins on a card. What the odds of that happening!!! rflmao1 rflmao1

I'll just say that if he wants to repeat those numbers at least the wins and the udrs he better stay at
the tracks he is at, they look good on paper but when he was here (IL) with this bunch he did nothing to
impress me.

That's for sure Hugh, but Gary says he has matured--I think

Completely different person now, then he was then. Does he still do some stuff on the racetrack that make you shake your head, yes, but that is why he is really good. Every time he is behind one, they will get a shot and that is why those mistakes are made. As for the comment about him not being able to drive with the "big fish", he had 13 drives on Juggette day and had 4 wins, 3 seconds, and 3 thirds, and 2 fifth places finishes. 12 of 13 got checks against the "big fish".

I witnessed his debut in Chitown and it was quite lackluster. I'm glad to see him doing better. Seemed like a nice kid, but without a clue. I suppose we all have to go through that stage. I wish him the best.
-
I dont think anyone would expect him to put up the numbers that he put up this year if he went to a bigger venue. However, there is one number that I think you would see increase that is more important than udrs, win, etc. That's purse money. Who cares if he doesnt bat .400, and win 700 races. If he bats .250 against a better driver colony and wins 300 races, but earns four or five million in purses instead of 2.2 million, is that not a positive move??? I will admit, Dan is a close friend of mine but trust me, he has infuriated me on more than one occasion about some of his drives, however, I never question his will to win and his effort on the racetrack. You just better know to have them tight and ready to rock when he gets behind them, that is just Dan. That being said, the best thing for him would be to take a shot to make bigger money. And yes, to all the doubters, he will certainly not have the win % or udrs that he had this year if he does that, but I think, if put in the right spot that you will see in time that Dan can drive at most places and be successful.
-
Have to agree with BuckeyeWon. The kid has proven to me that he can drive with anyone on a half-mile track. I would really like to see him go to PA and drive at The Meadows more often as well.
But like I told BuckeyeWon and Danny for that matter: I would never use Danny on one that has not had four or five starts and is damned tight! rflmao1

the last couple weeks of Dec. he started pushing the envelope and getting his butt parked because he was so anxious to put up wins. but that is kid stuff and he will overcome it. driving with a different colony of drivers will only make him better. Wishing him the best of Luck. Tyler Smith will be hot on his heels shortly. Tyler is one of the best young'uns movin up . He will be heard from. Throw Chris Page in the mix and Ohio has some young guns that will show up big time one of these days.
