How can they make any of these races betting races? And why would a guy in a Amateur race stiff a horse like Dean Spriggs just did in the first? This Andie Sophia was so overloaded in the stretch all he had to do is pull the right line and he runs right by. Instead he takes a hold of her and runs up the back of the winner never trying to pass until right after the wire when she blows on by. Just awful.

Just Brutal. These races should always be non betting. That was a total stiff job!

Spriggs was a two time Billings winner and two time National Driver of the year, it was like he was some hack who I wouldn't let drive my car.

Just watched the replay. noway

And then to have David's 2yr old trotter just stop racing on the front end in the fourth? It just looks real bad to the new/casual fan.
I'll wait until tomorrow to play with real money.

And Gural's horse went on to win. rflmao1

I like to see the Amateur drivers out there, having fun... I think sometimes we forget how fun it is to actually sit behind one and go fast...
Although I would agree, from a betting point of view, I pass 99 times out of 100.

You don't have to bet them. If you choose to, caveat emptor. Hell, they once made me 1-5 at Scioto and I lost a photo for third. What's worse? My driving or the public's handicapping?

That is a tough question. It is damned close...

I'm sure you at least tried to win right? Have you watched this race? Can you honestly say this guy tried to win? That stretch drive says it all. What would have happened if this was a regular driver that did this? Just because it's an amateur race doesn't make it alright since people are betting on their product. This race didn't cost me a dime, but I'm sure the guy who opened the betting with $8000 on the winner was pretty happy.

JJ, as the owner of the horse in question (Andie Sophia) what is your opinion of the drive?

I thought she hit the helmet of the driver in front of her and checked herself and or lost momentum very, very late in the race
I believe she had trot and wish the driver pulled the right line but even if he did the incident was so late in the race that I believe she would not have won
she's back in Monday night at Yonkers in the second race and my biggest worry is Tracy Brainard's entry who is starting for her for the first time and last night she won 3 of her 4 races at Yonkers Raceway

Congrats on the win thumbsup
thanks much
she had plenty of trot and appears to be in her best form of the year
always is a great night at the track when your horse wins, nothing better than that

Congratulations on the win. You are correct, nothing quite like that winning feeling!
