Can check that off the bucket list.

They are a scary thing, to say the least. I have never been closer to one than maybe 3-4 miles, and that was too close.

Everyone in the area survived. House will probably be demolished and rebuilt. All the power lines in the development are below ground so it was odd having electricity with parts of the house gone.

Wow! Glad you are ok!

Those pics sure captured the power of nature. Hope things get back to normal soon.

Glad you are ok. Living here in plainfield,iL been through 1 and another missed us by like 1/4 mile. We were known as tornado alley back in the 90s. They are scary as he'll.

To be honest when I 1st saw this thread I thought you were near Gary after he ate a fresh batch of 3 week old homemade chili, now after seeing it I wish I were right or maybe not scratch that, just glad you're OK and here to tell us about it.

I told the neighbor kid that he wasn't allowed to eat baked beans anymore.

Glad you are alright, Jeremy. Good luck with the rebuilding process.

Correct that things can be replaced but people can't be. Glad you and yours are okay, Jeremy. Mother Nature can't be beat. Once her wrath is felt it can be devastating.

A storm at sea will humble you in a hurry. It'll take an aircraft carrier or a cruise liner and play with that floating city like a toy in a bath tub. Nature is a mother.

Got back in the house the weekend before Christmas.
Neighbors are just moving back in this weekend, and one family won't be back in until at least March. I cannot imagine how bad the tornadoes in the south are and how long it takes to rebuild.
