Cambest ran his time trial on August 14, 1993 with a prompter beside him. He ran the TT in the following fractions.
26.1- 51.4 -119 -146.1
26.1 -25.3- 27.1- 27.1
He would probably gone a sub 46 mile if he had today's super light weight sulky like the UFO.
You can watch it here and the poor prompter could hardly keep up with the horse.

Any time anyone posts links to these old videos I end up
wasting spending an hour watching others on You Tube. thumbsup
Also - it's a shame Springfield doesn't attract the top Grand Circuit stock any more.

That Time Trial has and will forever be tainted.
The next month Cambest won the Senior Jug and was DQed for a high Bicarbonate test. Fred Grant was given $250 fine and 60 days.
ODonnell never drove the horse again after the Time Trial.
The horse was suppose to go to Hanover I think, but after the high test Hanover backed out and he ended up in Ky.

Exactly.
They refused to scratch the horse after the high test and allowed him to race without announcing it, stealing money from the public and the other horsemen in order to avoid a potential lawsuit. They did what was easy instead of what was right.
