The Packers do not want to make any determination until Rodgers undergoes further testing Tuesday, according to sources.
Rodgers suffered the injury in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Chicago Bears. The 2011 league MVP landed on his left shoulder when he was sacked by defensive end Shea McClellin on the game's opening series.
Packers team physician Pat McKenzie spent several minutes examining Rodgers on the bench before taking him to the locker room for further examination.
Although the swelling in Rodgers' shoulder was too significant to determine the extent of the injury Monday night, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder that "it doesn't look good."
"This is the one we couldn't afford to lose," the source told Werder.
Green Bay (5-3), which fell into a three-way tie with Chicago and the Detroit Lions atop the NFC North, has been ravaged by injuries this season.

Aaron Rodgers was injured during the opening series of Monday night's game against the Bears.
The Packers already were without Pro Bowl linebacker Clay Matthews (thumb), wide receiver Randall Cobb (fibula) and tight end Jermichael Finley (neck) for Monday night's game.
Rodgers was 1-of-2 passing on the opening drive, which resulted in a field goal. Seneca Wallace, signed by the Packers during the first week of the regular season, replaced Rodgers on the second series, a drive that ended in an interception.
With 6:54 left in the third quarter, Rodgers returned to the Packers' sideline in street clothes and received a loud ovation from the crowd. Rodgers shook hands with coach Mike McCarthy.
Wallace, who finished 11-of-19 for 114 yards, an interception and no touchdowns, is the only other quarterback on the Packers' active roster.
Rodgers has missed just two games since becoming the Packers' starter in 2008. He played with a separated left (non-throwing) shoulder during the 2008 season and did not miss a game.
In 2010, Rodgers missed a Week 15 game at New England after suffering a concussion in the previous week's game. The three-time Pro Bowler also sat out the 2011 regular-season finale, when the Packers opted to rest Rodgers against the Lions -- a game in which backup Matt Flynn passed for 480 yards and six touchdowns.
Wallace, 33, owns a 6-15 career record as a starter and has not won a game as a starter since Oct. 3, 2010, as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

Always surprising to see Cleveland Browns and win in the same sentence. Although they are 4-1 when Weeden hasn't started this year.

Seneca Wallace is head and shoulders above Weeden as a QB. Wallace had a very poor supporting cast when he was in Cleveland. In Weeden's case, the supporting cast is there-and with him at the helm, the Brownies might not have won a game.

Seneca is not that bad. He's a career backup, so he is not top flight, but he is a far more effective passer than Weeden. He also moves much better in the pocket.

The guy today was pretty bad but as an Eagles fan IVe seen worse ( Doug Peterson).
They have so much of the cap invested in Rogers they need him back.
I do think Packers maybe win today with Rogers.
also hope they beat the Giants next week.

Maybe we can trade Jay Cutler to them! Lost a lot of respect for Trestman letting an injured player dictate his teams loss. In keeping with the NFL "culture" I texted him calling him a no good cracker and threatening to release his wife's sex tapes.
