Gabe Prewitt is one of harness racing's best young announcers. He is also the new announcer at Pompano Park.
Gabe will retain his announcing position at The Red Mile throughout the summer meet next year, as well as his full time gig as the head of the Kentucky Harness Horsemen's Association. Gabe will start his new position at Pompano on November 1, 2013.
Gabe is a huge supporter of the sport, not only as an announcer, but as an owner and as a bettor. He also basically singlehandedly runs The Red Mile's "public relations" department. If there is ever a press release from The Red Mile, it is a safe bet Gabe wrote it and sent it out.
Unfortunately Buffalo Raceway will be looking for a replacement. I would hate to follow Gabe's act! thumbsup

Good luck to Gabe. I can tell you for a fact there were some 'big names' that interviewed for that position...some surprisingly big names.

Gabe used Buffalo as a stepping stone. Now he can work Lexington and Pompano, as well as the KY Harness Horsemen's Association with no conflict of dates. Gabe of course did not like Buffalo winters either. I talked to him for a while Saturday night at Scioto.
