Breeders Crown champion Intimidate, who went on to win the 2012 O'Brien Award as Canada's 3-Year-Old Colt Trotter of the Year, picked up his first charted line of the season during Thursday morning's qualifying session at Rideau Carleton Raceway, and it was a winning effort.
The 4-year-old son of Justice Hall-Fabulous Tag, who was last spotted at Woodbine Racetrack winning last October's $546,987 Breeders Crown final--a race he supplemented to for $62,500, overcame a 9-1/4 length deficit at the half-mile pole to win the prep by two lengths in 2:01.1 for trainer/driver Luc Blais.
Intimidate, a homebred owned by breeder Judith Farrow of Hemmingford and Luc Blais Inc of Lochaber Ouest, QC, went 13-for-17 last season after going 1-for-3 in his rookie season. The gelding has banked $418,590 to date. (from SC)
