Title: Mohawk Saturday Night

Here's what I like on tonights card:

1- Campasser. First start off a qualifier but gets Tetrick in the bike, so the horse should be well placed. Should get odds as a value play.

2- Appomattox. Very consistent sort that has been a bit camera shy lately. Has been taking on all the big names. Box with Knows Nothing.

3- Mystician. I think Sparky Mark and All that Glitters are going to battle on the front and Jody should have this one up close and positioned well... Playing a hunch here.

4- Little Brown Fox. Yannick will be gunning with this one. Slightly favored over Market Share. Box the two for a low priced exactor.

5- Few weeks ago I'd have said Panther Hanover but that one looks to be in trouble. Michaels Power has been a monster so far all year and should win here. Box with I've Found my Beach, Dapper Dude, and a Rock n Roll Dance. They will be flying in here.

6- Silver Eagle. Played him last week and he disappointed. Draws inside again and should help quite a bit. Taking a flyer again.

7- Ideal Choice. Shows solid form and should handle these.

8- L Dees Lioness. Played her last week and she finished second. Coleman is always easy to bet when the big money is on the line. Helps that I Luv the Nightlife starts from the second tier. Put this one top of 1,4,7,11 in the exotics.

9- Lennon Blue Chip. Solid veteran that can get the job done with this bunch. Filion is great at working out a trip.

10- Odds on Equleuus. Horse just missed winning the Metro the week before and the horse that beat him isn't in tonight. Play on top of 1,4,6,9 in the exotics.

11- Rebeka Bayama. Was in against the best mares in the world last week and gets some major relief here. Should be more than enough to get her back in the winners circle.

12- Major Hottie. One of my personal favorite horses to watch, was up the track last start and had to qualify. Drops down in class, could be enough. Have a look.

13- Winning Dream. Christoforou sat in last week, rather than give the horse a shot. Should be ready to roll tonight. Hunch play, looking for a good price.

Good luck to all playing, let's get some picks going!

Race 1 - #5 Lifeoftheoldboy gets Filon back and that should assure better striking position in a class he can handle for sure. 5W6/4/8

Race 4 Pick Four (1/6/7/9-8/12-2/6/8-1/3/4/7)

Race 7 - my pick of the night is #4 Bullet Speed. He's an in and out type but he's got raw speed in a race I think lacks speed. Has handled this class before and may be overlooked here. 4W7/1/3

Race 8 Pick Four (4/8/11-2/3/4-2/4/9/12-4/6)

Race 10 - a great race for the top 2 yr olds again. Too tight for me. I'm just wondering how that bum Campbell will screw up Odds On Equuleus again. Heck he only followed the favorite and lost in a photo and only got a check for $250k. Horrible drive. LOL!!!!!!!

Race 11 - got to love Rebeka Bayama here. Faces much much easier though won't offer much of a price. 6 W4/3/8

Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!

Guy beside me had it boxed for 10 bucks. He was pretty happy when they took Filion down to second.

I would think TT is smart enough to not use the horse too much in an elim.

Like Yannick did to little brown fox in the hambo elim.
Went too hard from an outside post.

The last 6 lines on his chart - racing in the open or Preferred or Canadian derby elims, the Charts show 1:21:3, 1:21:4, 1:22:1,1:22:1, 1:23:1, 1:23

And he's usually sitting about sixth or further back.

I like Little Brown Fox from the rail

Market Share is at a huge disadvantage from the 9 post in my opinion

Since the top 5 make it, I am giving My MVp and Prestidigator a shot here

All these people who Love Scott this race right here is why I hate him ( Glad he did it got a better price in the pick 4) but why in the world did he go 53to the half? There is no one outside. he reminds me of Andy Miller but i would rather bet Andy over him. he gets the wins he gets cause the drivers up there really aren't very good. There is Jody, Randy and SF, and the rest ehhh

Is anyone else wondering what Campbell was doing there? Looked bad. I was going to bet the Panther and I just couldn't off of the last race and qualifier. I'd say he's back to form. Should have went with my gut.  hammerhead1 hammerhead1 slaphead

I defended him last week, but John Campbell has been absolutely terrible tonight. Maybe the recall affected the horse, but he had him in gear than let him run in only to pull him back out and chase him again.... Poor poor showing tonight.

Right there with you. No Excuse tonight. He waited way to long to go around Cassie's horse too. Pretty brutal tonight

You think about Willie Mays with the Mets or Johnny Unitas with the Chargers.
Babe Ruth with the Braves.

Knowing when to say enough is tough.
The thing about this sport is that owners and trainers have to make a conscience decision to use him. So I guess some still think he is a top level driver.

I agree. But tonight was not a good night for him is all I said.

I definately didnt have an issue with what you said.
Only was saying that the blame can be spread a little.

I didnt see the race in question.
If someone has a replay id like to see it. Seems like this was particularily bad.

The first race he got parked. Same thing happened to TT on Market share but he had the horse to over come it.

The second race is brutal. So bad that if it was jsut a reg driver racing for $2000 somewhere youd think it was an intentional bad drive.

Sure he got parked... Sitting Seventh!!! Than three high down the backstretch. A night to forget for JC. Hope he bounces back.

So did tetrick in the elimination though. But it did seem TT actually didnt even over use the horse with not catching the rail for a step.

And yes bad night for JC he was no good in the market share race either.

I like how they offer all their replays on youtube immediately and offer a live feed for their races. They know  how to  promote racing.

Shame Canadian racing is under attack.
I once went though canada on a pearl jam tour and I remember there was a harness track in every town.

WEG does a good job that way - free programs as well...and the live horse tracking on the screen is nice as well. They are the best circuit going for the harness fan. McGuinty sold his soul to the Vegas casinos and horse racing will take the fall. Mohawk handled 1.8 million tonight, the bet is still strong. Tough times ahead in Ontario.
