Modell was just a business man acting like a business man like the guy who moved the Colts to indy.
At least cleveland kept the name. Baltimore should have too.

As for me I have no Ill will towards Art Modell. He did a lot of good for Cleveland. He had to do what he did and move the Browns because he got into the Old Cleveland Stadium leasing deal and stuff. Mayor White and Gov. George Voinovich had much to do about Art leaving too. He did it for his financial security. He had to get out of his deal for that Old Stadium. He was putting millions into it every year. People say in Cleveland that he could have sold the Browns and didn't that exactly what happened in Baltimore? Art needed more $$$$$$$$$$$$ and the owner of the Ravens bought him out?

An associate of mine sold a chunk of the Jacksonville Jaguars a while back. He told me he had to sell, so I asked if it was a hostile takeover. He said, "No, he offered so much that we stockholders couldn't refuse it." The buyer didn't want any partners so he ponied up the money. Everybody walked away happy.
