Title: IL Slots Vetoed
Post by: Just Saying on August 28, 2012, 07:00:25 PM
Our lovely turnip of a Governor vetoed the bill that passed both houses of the IL legislature. He waited until the last day so that it couldn't be brought up until after the election. He said that it lacked ethics provisions. (IN ILLINOIS?) And added that slots at the racetracks was a 'non-starter'. (smell any casino money?)

This state is so screwed... and the horsemen are the screwed-est. shootme

They raided our VFW and made us remove them. 100% of money we take in goes back out to Veteran's causes. All the assholes accomplished was taking donations away from VA Hospital patients, and Veteran's Homes residents. 4pezz2

Reminds me of when I was a kid and dear old dad was one of the Officers in the MOPH and a member of VFW.   They all had slots in the backrooms when they were clearly illegal and they'd get tipped as to a raid and then get the machines hidden in the nick of time.   Funny how they did that as we look back at it....point is, you JS and the others have done a wonderful job for the veterans and should be applauded.

Back to Quinn - evidently what he says he wants in the bill does not apply to existing casino's?   Why, because they're in his pockets already?   Seems pretty clear he has a hard on for racing, hates Dick D and the Johnstons too.   What really bothers me from a whole different perspective is this - he's thumbing his nose at the House and Senate that were elected by the people and passed the legislation.   No regard for the legislature, what's the use having them if one Dictator rules with iron fist and thumbs his nose at what they do?

Quinnochio can be overidden by a 3/5ths majority of both chambers of the House. I don't expect that to happen; those money sucking idiots can't agree on anything except lining their own pockets. They are all tap dancing until after the election.

I concur

With many losing their positions come November , it's going to be a free for all and the gambling bill will suffer. I know O&S will always remain positive but it is what it is
