I see many people paying large sums for well bred trotters every year. Richard Gutnick purchased both Chapter Seven and Market Share for $58,000 combined.

Nice buys for a good guy.

Toscano isn't even in the top fifty in wins; she only has about 70. The fact that she's fourth in earnings is all the more amazing for that reason.

Elgin, I agree with you when it comes to the whole who is beeter debate. Yes we think Goo Goo is better, but if they are going to Duck everything the rest of the year, then see ya, you don't belong in the same category.

And the voters of the top 10 poll every week should stop voting for him cause he doesn't deserve the votes.

when you open both Chapter Seven and Market Share every day is Christmas

couldn't happen to a nicer guy and Richard Gutnick is a really good guy, been friends with him since the day we met

Believe me the Goo connections arent to worried about the poll etc etc.
Id doubt the owner is even aware a poll exists.
They arent ducking anyone.

I must say congrats to Market Share and his connections. Who by all accounts are good people.
And a world champion. Everyone is happy for them.

Goo did beat him in the colonial and MS did go inside the pylons to come second.

Is MS Matron eligible?
And even if Goo beats him again ( and all the others) I have no problem with Market Share getting any award.
Hes had a tremendous year and is a tremedous horse.

My heart is with the Maryland bred horse. Whose trainer literaly has a 1 horse stable going.

If it wasnt for Market Share Goos win in the colonial wouldne be so impressive.

Hope to see another show down at the Matron. Between 2 great champion horses.

No Market Share for the Matron.

But they can still supplement and its only 25K

We could easily have another big time contender by then.  Even if MS were to supplement that doesn't mean its just between those two.

Y'know 3WW, it's not a good thing for the sport - having one of the best trotters & not going to the biggest races (BC) to stir up the excitement.  So before you go off on a rant of how wonderful these folks are with their one horse stable, please think about how selfish they are, robbing the sport of great, defining moments.

So far, the two biggest races(?) they've been in, they have two breaks so management is clearly not their specialty.

No  one of the breaks was in the Yonkers trot for 500 000. He won the Colonial and beal for the same amount. The other break was the Dancer which was for a much smaller amount.

I am going to give the little guy with a one horse stable an A + for management.

Also will be interesting to see what these other contenders do when they are 4.

No rant coming.
P.S.

Ryan may not be as bad as I thought. But still I am betting against.

3W,

Market Share is staked to the one million dollar Canadian Trotting Classic as well as the BC.  Not being staked to the Matron doesn

Oh well.

No one is ducking anyone is the point.

But people can believe what they want.
I only have tried to impart information.

I just spoke to Rich

Market Share is staked to the Galt and the American National, both races are the same time as the Matron

Rich never ducks anyone and Market Share faced the best this year and won some of the sports biggest races and Chapter Seven has and will continue to face the best trotters in the sport

I believe the American National goes for more money than the Matron which was why he staked the horse to that race

JJ, I don't think anyone is accusing MS of ducking competition.  That would be an insane & useless argument.

Personally, I don't think Googoo is ducking anyone either.  I just think they have no experience & don't even have a clue as to how & when they should race this guy.  3WW has this attachment to the horse & so his opinion here has to be looked at with that in mind.  But if this were any other horse, I think 3WW would have the same problem that I have here, which is that going in a different direction, away from the major competition is a bad thing for the sport.

Many of us criticized SBSW when they went to those silly OSS, instead of the bigger races here.

I assume you mean the Rich associated with MS and not Goo.

Its a nice rivalry and is what it is. If MS races at 4 will have some more fun.

And they have had other horses that have made big money before.
Its not poor management.
Its in the horses best interest.
Since his 4 year old campain will be more lucrative I really dont have a problem with how they are managing goo. IMO he is the best 3 yr old trotter out there. But its just my opinion.

Dont get mad at the horse for his path or me for being a fan.
Enjoy things.

And to Beans Weiners hard for me to not reply when people address them to me.
I am jsut having fun loving this horse.Definately dont want to go on and on about it in a forum.
Should get my winners circle pick from Chester in the next 3 days.
30 bucks! But worth it and one of about 3 I have ever paid for myself.

Gary Id like the beer mug icon for myself. :)
Take care all.

I don't believe Chapter Seven will race next year as he won't have anything to prove and Market Share will race as a 4 year old.

Market Share was an exceptional $16,000 yearling purchase.
