Last night, my very, very dear friend Jamie Coffy had to put one of her horses down after a severe bout with colic. I was 2200 miles away, but on the phone with Jamie through the entire ordeal, for what was one of the most difficult nights in my life.
I've put horses down and held them myself during the procedure and it is never pleasant, but for my angelic little friend Jamie to be in so much pain...it hurt me clear down to my very soul. This girl is the hardest working human being I've ever known and when she hurts, I hurt.
TC's Big Cat Daddy was a 10 year old warhorse who at times bled through lasix. He still managed to earn over $109,000 in his career and get a record of 1:56.4 (I believe) on the trot. He was a classy old campaigner who had the most amazing strut I've ever seen on a horse when he hit the track. He was truly strutting his stuff. Everyone who had the pleasure of being around Big Cat loved him and will miss him.
I am sorry there was not more I could do to help Jamie, and I love you dearly! :'( heartluv
