World champion trotter Manofmanymissions 3, 1:52.1 ($1,215,000) has been retired. The son of Yankee Glide-Armbro Vanquish (by Garland Lobell) will begin his stallion career at Kentuckiana Farms in 2012. Kentuckiana, breeder of the colt, will serve as the syndicate manager.
Manofmanymissions, the fastest 2-year-old and second fastest 3-year-old son of the great Yankee Glide, retires from racing as the current 2-year-old world champion, having established his mark of 1:53.2f at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in winning 2010 Breeders Crown. In doing so, Manofmanymissions shattered the prior five-eighths mile mark by nearly two seconds. His 2-year-old season included 4 wins in 6 starts, and earnings of $432,900 with wins also in the Kindergarten and International Stallion Stakes at The Red Mile.
This year at age three Manofmanymissions accumulated 9 wins and earned $782,100, bringing his lifetime earnings to $1,215,000. During his 3-year-old campaign he took a lifetime mark of 1:52.1 with wins in the Dancer Memorial, a Hambletonian elimination, New Jersey Sire Stakes Final, Colonial Trot, Canadian Trotting Classic elimination, Kentucky Futurity (Heat and Race-off Final) and Breeders Crown elimination.
In what has been called an instant classic, Manofmanymissions showed a combination of speed and courage in the Kentucky Futurity after having been passed in the stretch by Dejarmbro in both the second heat and final, to fight back to win both races.

I really think that the big races should be for 4-5 year olds.
IMO trotters don't get their best until then or later idunno
Oh well I'm just a GSG anyway.

Would have been interesting to see him with the breaking problem solved.
Sad to see him retired.

Futurity Day at Lexington is one I'll never forget. I bet him in leg 1 when he broke. I bet Dejarmbro in leg 2 when somehow MOMM dug in and won. I bet Dejarmbro again in leg 3 - lost my money that day but gained a lot of respect for the toughness of MOMM.

Just as I've been thinking-there has to be more than meets the eye to this horse retiring. He must have some sort of soundness issue.

Never was an MOMM fan. Some might disagree with me but I always thought he wilted or broke when pressured.
