It certainly is shocking that George Brennan, who owes his 2011 HTA Driver of the Year award to Sweet Lou, would defend him. It was George who steered the unheralded Real Joke to his shocking 47.3 invitational win at the Meadowlands

. Actually, it never happens in the real world.

This is what I don't understand..........if he is so "dumb" and arrogant as people say how is he "smart" enough to have the greatest pre-race in the world and keep it to himself?  idunno

His horses were defiantly not running off the screen with the medications he is being charged with using incorrectly.

I think Lou Pena had some good years in California as well as some bad years. It sometimes takes a while for things to click, then you are the best. The thing is, a lot of guys get to the top, but only a few stay there.

Amy , if I came to you with something that would improve the performance of your horses and you would try anything (legal or illegal) to win , would that make you a genius?

nobody caught Ledford(no positives) who had a higher % than Pena..was he a genius?

point being , you don't have to be the smart one who came up with the stuff, just smart enough to keep your mouth shut and not shove it down everyone 's throat( which both Pena and Ledford did).

-Ledford got caught with the actual goods........one of the reasons (they) were all caught was due to loose lips sinking ships.........I don't believe anyone can be that tight lipped, let alone a horseman.  ;D

-Why would only Pena be privileged to the "good stuff"?  It is only being sold to him?

I find the scenario highly unplausible.

But to throw Pena to the side.........I'm the most pissed about how this has played out and the damage it has done.

not plausable?

well who else at the time was using Aranesp (sp) besides Ledford?

no one was near his % during his 1 1/2 year run....

I agree with the loose lips among horsemen ,which is why I feel his source just deals with him...

IMO, this whole situation , now banning Brennan from BigM will get worse before things "shake out" and new rules are implimented iin regards to the vets and treatments before races.

ps best of luck with your stable..
