The problen is that even if it's a short term bout of sickness, he loses his chance to compete in next week's UC final or consolation. I think there were too many entered in the eliminations for him to default into the latter. Maybe they'll make a race for him at Mohawk. But again, will being sick get him more off his schedule than it has already or is it a blip on the screen?

A couple of years ago Sportswriter won one race at three--the NA Cup--and he still got O'Brien votes for divisional champ. That's how important that race has become, and I think it means a lot to Jamieson and company.

Here is a look at how the field will line up for the Upper Canada Cup:

1. Lyons Josephjnr
2. Fanelli Royal
3. Michaels Power
4. Hard To Mach
5. Huxley
6. Rebel Jet
7. Machapelo
8. Mel Mara
9. Secretsoftheknight
AE1. R Gauwitz Hanover
AE2. Machs Beach Boy
