Kerry Wood is about to retire..he comes in for 1 batter in a 1 run game ..strikes him out and is taken out to a standing ovation. Throw out the 20 strikeout game and this guy was the ultimate in mediocrity. Of course the "lambs" in attendence at the slaughterhouse known as Wrigley Field give him a standing ovation as if he's a hall of famer..people the Ricket family is loving every minute of the lovefest cause they know you'll show up no matter what kind of slop they throw out on the field. Whats next bring back augie ojeda rflmao1

He was ok, but really never was the pitcher it looked like he might become. thumbsup

He never won more then 14 games. He lost the playoff game after the
bartmen game. If you live in Chicago and listen to all the pub over the years you would think he is a hall of famer. 86 life time wins not 186.
This just in the Cubs have announced Kerry Wood bobblehead day.
Make sure to get your overpriced tickets! GO SOX!

Sox win 3-2 despite Alex Rios dropping an easy 3rd out. Also Jeff Samardzija hitting Paulie in the face after Konerko Blasted one out.
I hope its another 100+ years before the Cubs win a world series.

One issue I always had with Cubs fans is their acceptance of losing.
They come out and support their team no matter what.
While this is admirable. It is also a way to have management consistantly field bad teams when they have no incentive to win.
No such thing as a lovable loser for me.
I appreciate the Phillies last 5 division titles and world series ring in 2008. But I am furious at them for the team they are now fielding. The GM should be fired for it.
Its unacceptable to me and the Cubs fof the last 50-100 years should be unnacceptable to their fan base.

I think he pitched bad a few games in a row for the Indians in 2008, took them out of the playoffs and then everyone got traded away.
I remember when the Indians signed him for $11 million or so after not being able to afford CC or Lee...

I predict a Cubs star will be drilled but good when action switches to the Cell. Wait a minute---the Cubs don't have any stars No more lovable losers---just sore losers
