The NYSS for 3-YO trotting fillies kicked off the season with four $60,000 divisions at Saratoga last night. That sector looks strong on top but may not run very deep.
For A Dancer (Conway Hall), the 2011 champ, won easily in :56.4 at 1-9 for Jeff Gregory. JG never moved a muscle.
Amandamide (Credit Winner), won by open lengths for Jim Morrill at 6-5.
Cowgirl Hall (Cash Hall) wired the field at 1-2 for Gates Brunet, drawing off by open lengths.
The fourth division was the only one that held any surprises: there were three breakers, including favorite Miss Connor, leaving an opening for Ray Schnittker to eke out a wire-to-wire win with 7-1 Borrow And Spend, Dejarmbro
