JC clowned Brett Miller in the second division. Campbell got to the top with co-second choice Idonette (Donato) at the quarter, and immediately let Miller go with the favorite Sand Violent Blu. Miller opened up three, four, five lengths on Campbell

Supposedly Brett's filly bled. At least that is what a guy told me on the phone. She was bleeding at the end of last year too, thus her first start on lasix today.

All I could think of was Brett's performance behind Cheddar, when that one had his coming out party at Mohalk against nw2 at the end of May. He took off after the leader after a half in :56.2, hit the 3/4 in 1:22.4 and won by ten or twelve in :49.2. He was working Cheddar all the way down the stretch. It looked like Coleman was asking him WTF after the race, or maybe she liked that.

Some of those battles he waged on Big Bad John against Montrell and Custard were also kind of whacky. He and Montrell are both prone to losing their minds in the heat of a race.

Brett's a good buddy of mine, but in my opinion his one flaw as a driver is that he is often too aggressive. Same with Danny Noble and many other guys. They don't look at the big picture-they tend to not even worry about next week with a horse. These guys can get so much out of a horse and they try to get it all every week.
