Wow! I've seen some really bad analysis of the NFL but this is maybe the worst one-sided piece of dreck yet. He got to Chicago, got to the NFC Championship, got hurt & they lost. Then, when they get things together & are on a roll they lose Cutler for the rest of the season.
This guy is a total moron. Don't bother reading him when it comes to DaBears. The Tribune must have better writers than this guy.
I just posted that as a joke since the thread kept coming back to the subject of Jay Cutler. That notwithstanding, fair or not, Cutler just turned twenty-nine and is about to begin his seventh season in the league. He was projected by many to be on a level with Brady and Peyton Manning, but for one reason or another that hasn

It is a very difficult division that will likely be decided by fewest injuries.
Biggest difference between Cutler & Manning/Brady is he's on his 2nd team & more importantly, this will be his 4th different offensive coach. Manning & Brady played for the same coaches until they had everything under control.
I'd be remiss if I also didn't mention that Cutler is just not as accurate but does have the strongest arm. Of course we all know that arm strength don't mean diddly without accuracy.

To add to that, Cutler gets hit and Manning/Brady do not. Of course, often it's Cutler's fault for not reading the blitz or just holding onto the ball too long (although we know the O-line has its shortcomings).
Finally nice to have a receiver with hands, for once.

One thing that sets Brady apart from most is the fact that he plays through injuries, most of which you never hear about until after the season is over. In 2001 he injured his knee in the playoffs; in 2002 he played the second half of the season with a shoulder injury which required surgery; in 2004 he had a high temp and needed an IV prior to the team

The difference between Brady and Cutler runs a lot deeper than arm strength, accuracy and being in the same offensive system.
Brady has the will to succeed as well as superior leadership qualities, while Cutler hasn't proven himself to be in possession of the same.
I wasn't comparing Cutler to Brady, the author did. Brady is, arguably, the best ever, therefor is an unfair comparison.
My bottom line is Cutler is easily good enough to win BIG - one or more Super Bowls, IMO. He has the skills.

Can't argue with that. His skill level is very high.
