Ron Pierce wired the field in the Dexter with Takter's Not Afraid, a three-quarter brother to In Focus, who didn't race at two. Jeff Gregory's market Share, the 2-5 favorite, broke as he tried to take the lead into the second turn. Not afraid was 7-1 and paid $17.
