Here you go, argue away
« on: October 18, 2011, 07:52:13 AM »
In order to promote peace, love, harmony, and most importantly more posts, I am creating the Political board.

I'm going to start this off by saying what I think. Like it or not, here you go:

Barack Obama could have been a great president. Instead he took the path of being like everyone else-go along to get along. While his ideas are far different from mine politically, he obviously has a knack of getting people to vote for him. He will win in 2012 easily.

Barack Obama stinks as president in my opinion and here is why: His socialist policies in a capitalistic country just do not work. He tries to ram his b.s. down everyone's throat, and blame the country's problems on George W. Bush, who also stunk as a president.

Here is old Gary D's political agenda:

1. Legalize same-sex marriage. Who really cares if the gays screw each other? It's none of my business where anyone puts his pecker.

2. Legalize pot immediately. Read a statistic about pot yesterday. Not a single person has died from smoking pot since 1997. Zero! I know from experience that pot helps medical patients with many issues including pain, loss of appetite, anxiety, and it even appears to prevent certain cancers from spreading. Not only that, but it's a cheap way to get screwed up.  :o ;D

3. Put out a $1 billion open offer to the person(s) who develop solar and wind power to the point they are viable alternatives to petroleum. We have enough natural gas reserves under the USA to power this country for 100 years. Use it to the fullest extent!

4. Reduce our involvement in wars of all kinds...unless someone f**ks with us. Then nuke the hell out of them. Losing one US soldier is one too many.

5. Federal deficit? Oh please...go bankrupt on any other country we owe. The idiots in Washington (both parties) probably gave them (the other countries we owe) the money to lend us in the first place. There has got to be a balanced budget of no more than 1/10th what it is today.

6. Lower taxes, except to the companies who produce our products overseas. Tax the shit outta them! Here is one major issue I have with the Republican party! The Bush family sent so many of our jobs overseas. >:(

7. You're on welfare? If you can work, you are now off welfare. Obviously this applies to healthy people, but especially those with fake injuries. Let them smoke pot and get their asses back to work, if only flipping burgers at McDonalds!!

8. Social security. I am against the idea of social security, but since we already have it, politicians never, ever touch a penny of the money. Period.

9. I love the Wall Street protestors. They are against government bailout, I am too. Republicans fail to conceptualize that the bailouts are a large part or the problem with the economy. Bush should never have started with the first bailout of AIG. Not saying Republicans are the only guilty ones by any means-the Dems are just as guilty.

In addition, corporations in general are more crooked than the mafia...IMO  The CEO of UBS (a foreign owned bank) has played golf with Obama more than anyone during this administration. UBS is also the largest Wall Street firm donor to Obama.
Think maybe when all is said and done, UBS gets a huge favor from this administration?

10. Live and let live! And even if the Republicans run Bozo the Clown in 2012, I will vote for Bozo.

Well I don't agree about everything you have to say, but you have some good points.  America is supposed to be the land of opportunity, not the land of gauranteed success.  Sometimes you roll them bones and you lose.  Yes, we have college grads who can't find jobs.  But, nonetheless, unemployment is lowest amongst college grads.  I'm all for helping anyone out who has fallen on hard times.  But, we now have the "helping out" lasting for generations.  Many bitch about the education system.  Bottom line: nothing in= nothing out.  We have far too many students make no effort and even defy anyone to teach them anything and then their parents bitch about the educational system.  Very few countries offer the educational opportunities we do in this country.  Oh, I know other countries have better results.  That is mainly because only the gifted are allowed to continue on to higher education.  The less gifted or simply lazy are weeded out along the way.  Of course, the results will be better.
Barak doesn't have a clue.  I was very disappointed in George W, but this guy is making even him look good.  He has to go!!

I have had enough of both parties and and decided to vote AGAINST anyone currently in office in city state or federal election.

Yrs ago there was talk of a term limits and campaign contribution reforms.Neither came to pass  as the career pols took care of that.

If there is a limit on the amount of time a President can serve than there surely should be one on every other office.

Couldn't agree with you more Tross! But both houses of congress had to pass the term limit agreement on the president. They will NEVER pass the same law that applies to themselves.

I plan to vote for a 1 term limit on our present president.
